Wherever you go you will set the culture, because that’s a part of being bold in the name of Jesus. Back when we first got to Costa Rica the worship team was eating breakfast and planning a worship set. The song we decided to end on was “The Blessing” as a prayer over each other. This ended up being a weekly prayer that we sang every Monday. While we were in a little town called, Tsuiri, one of the base staff asked if we could sing the blessing over the church we were serving before we left. That made me realize things we do consistently and thing we make culture are what others pick up on.

As Christians we are looked at and judged by the world based on our actions and words. People watch us because they can tell there is something different about us. Not only that but, the things that we make habit and culture we create are what the next generations of believers will be doing.

1 Peter 2:16 says “Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.” The Lord gives us the freedom to choose how we live out lives and what we make habit, so let’s not waste that freedom.  The Lord could so easily wave His hand and change the patterns we are in, but no He loves us enough to get us that freedom. Let’s use this freedom  it for the glory of the Lord. So when you are going about your day to day take a look at what you a making habit and what culture you are setting. Is it what you want to see the next generation of believers doing?
