This past week has flown by and each week continues to go by faster and faster! I get home in 36 days!!! This trip was 91 days total and it is so crazy how fast it has flown by. We are only in Costa Rica for 11 more days and then head down to Panama! This past week has been a blast though getting to do more ministries with the people here in Jaco and spreading joy to everyone we see! So about this past week:
The first two days of ministry I got to work with what we called the Bohio project. It is a local cafe here in Jaco but we were actually working on the street where Bohio Cafe is located and painted a mural along the whole wall. They had gotten an artist from another city in Costa Rica to come here and draw the mural and my team got to paint it. Along with that was still the painting of the light posts down the main street in Jaco and it’s just really cool to get to speak with so many people about what we are doing and things like that. It’s awesome when people come up to you and are so intrigued with what we are doing that they even want to help out. The ministry here with Oceans Edge is so cool in helping out the community with everything we do.
On one of the nights after ministry our whole team went to the big sign of Jaco here that people visit when they come to Jaco. We were with a big group of people from here that go to the sign every week and worship and pray over the town of Jaco. So we got to worship with them for an hour and everyone prayed over the town for another. And all this was outside in the pouring rain which made it an even cooler experience. And after we just got to talk to people and hear about their lives and pray over them. Just another cool worship experience that even though we don’t speak the same language we can still worship God together!
Our last day of ministry of the week we got to do a surf ministry with kids and just hangout and swim with them in the ocean. I mean it’s cool enough just to get to swim in the ocean and see Gods creation all around us but getting to spread joy and love to kids and spend time with them while being in the ocean is ever cooler. We got to make hot dogs and s’mores for the kids and share a story from the Bible with them. All the ministry we do here is amazing and I’m so blessed to be apart of it! I will be sure to share what this next week has in store for my group and I!
