Hey everyone! So this past week has been a very cool week! We were in Nicaragua for the first three days and we left at 5am Thursday morning. We met up with the other half of our team late in the morning and we all traveled together and made it to our hostel in Costa Rica around 8pm. The past three days my team and I have all been hanging out at the hostel right on the beach. Each day we worship and have sessions together. Before I talk about what we have been doing here in Costa Rica, I’ll give you more details about this past week when we left Nicaragua….
Monday was a normal day. However, instead of Thursday night like we normally have our worship night with the kids and host we had it Tuesday night since we were going to be leaving Thursday. Each time we worship together it’s very moving for all of us. Wednesday was our last day, so we spent all day just hanging out with everyone there and saying our goodbyes to all the people we had grown so close to over the past month. That night they threw a party for us and cooked us some really good food. They even made goat which they had slaughtered that day. There was even a piñata that was full of candy that each person on my team got to hit and let all the kids get the candy. The children made a bunch of dances for them to perform for us at the party and it was really cool. They even made my team make a dance and perform it in front of them and it was funny. We got to eat ice cream and cookies as well. So, to say the least it was a great way to say our goodbyes and take pictures with everyone!
Then it was Thursday the day we left. And we had to wake up at 4am and be ready by 5:30 to get on the ferry that would take us to the mainland. We made it to mainland and we got taken to our bus stop by a van driver that has taken us places before. We waited at the bus stop for about an hour and a half and then got on the bus and reunited with the rest of our team which was really cool. From there we all traveled together, and it was a really long day with many stops. Travel days are always frustrating, but we went almost 3 hours out of the way towards the center of Nicaragua to San Jose and then had to backtrack to get here to Jaco. But we finally made it here to Jaco at around 8. ministry with all of our team together!
Since being in Costa Rica with our entire team we have been doing some really fun things as well as growing new relationships. Our whole team has a leader that stays back in the United States and comes to wherever your team is and meets you at your teams debrief. Our leaders name is Kylie, and she came down and met us here in Jaco and she’s really cool. Every morning we have a session at 9am where one of the leaders gives us a little devotional and after we worship. During the day Kylie has one on one meetings with people that we sign up for that day. We just talk about how the trip is going and how God is moving through us and using us out on the field. We also have a session at 7pm where we have another devotional and we worship followed by an activity that we do as a team. So far, it’s been really cool with all that is going on and hanging out with everyone here. We’ll be leaving the hostel tomorrow morning to where we will be staying for the remainder of our time here in Costa Rica. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us within the next two months! I would appreciate if you would all continue to pray for me and my team! Thank you guys!
Noah
