We have three more days in Nicaragua and then we head to Costa Rica early in the morning on Thursday. We are getting on the earliest ferry in the morning that leaves at 6am. We are taking public transportation on a bus from Nicaragua to Costa Rica and the other half of our team has our tickets so we don’t know when the bus will arrive. It’s crazy how fast time flies and we are already about to head to the next country. But anyway, this past week has had a lot of things happen, so I’ll tell y’all a little about that.
So, this past week we got to go to the church the people here at CICRIN built a long time ago and help with the needs they had there. We cleaned the walls inside and out and we washed all the chairs and tables as well. We also washed the floor and we got to see two more big tarantulas run right next to us. But it was the last day we were doing things there and our last task was to wash the grass with buckets of water, and what came from this was a cool experience for all of us. We had just finished, and I poured water on one of the girls and that proceeded to start a battle between everyone dumping water on each other. Even two of the ladies here as well as two girls a little younger than me started pouring water on each other. It was just awesome to get to just mess around with the people here and see their playful/silly side. We took a picture all together soaked in water and then our group ended up walking back to CICRIN which was a really long walk, but we didn’t care. Another cool part of our ministry is that the construction project we have been helping with is finally done. We have been building two more classrooms for the school and the two guys we have been helping told us we helped them finish in unbelievable time. They said they did the same project before and it took them a little over three months and with our help it took them about a month and week. So, I was just proud of the work we all put in to help build something for all the future kids that will be in that classroom. But we will take a picture in front of the structure sometime within the next few days and I will post it on my next blog post. Other than that, it was a great week of ministry pouring into the kids no matter what we were doing and helping the people here with anything they needed.
This weekend we went to a really pretty beach back on the mainland and we got to stay in this house we rented for two nights. We got groceries and cooked and ate together and had a fun weekend all together. I took some pictures and I am going to post them on here. There are a few stories to tell about the crazy weekend we had. Well first is that the waves were huge, and we got to swim for a long time and all of us got sunburnt bad. Also, Mack got stung by a jellyfish on her lower leg just walking along the edge of the water and most of the group had went back up to the house already and so Tye was the only boy still down at the beach so he peed in a bottle and she poured it on her leg. We got AC at the house for the first time and it felt amazing! But it was just a fun experience for all of us to hang out and have fun together. Next Sunday I will post about my thoughts about everything in Nicaragua and how I am ready for Costa Rica.
This is the picture we took after dumping water all over each other at the church.
This is the picture of the beach we got to visit this weekend.
