This coming up week is our last full week in Nicaragua! We leave on October 3rd which is next Thursday and although it will be awesome for my group to experience a new country and to spread God’s love and word, the friendships and memories we have made here will be sad to leave behind. But besides that we still have a week and a half remaining here and I can’t wait to see what more God has in store for us. This past week has had three main things that have happened within our group.
The first thing that happened is our group had a long talk early in the week about what was going on with our ministry. We all felt like most of the things we were doing here were useless and we felt like there was no reason for us to be here. We have done things like raking or sweeping and mopping and we all just felt like those weren’t things that we glorifying the Kingdom of God or bringing people closer to Jesus. But after a long talk we all realized that everything we were doing was helping the people here whether we thought so or not. Whatever they have asked from us we have done with giving hearts and with all the effort we could give. It was good for our group to have that talk so we could all know that what we are doing here is important and it is what God has called us to do.
The second thing that happened was on Thursday we had a worship night with a lot of the kids and our hosts. Anna, one of the girls in my group, led the worship and it was awesome. She would sing the song in English so our group would know what song it was and then Adrian, one of our hosts, would sing it in Spanish so all the kids and hosts would sing too. We sang a few songs and then after we got into a big circle and anyone who was sick or injured went into the middle and everyone else prayed healing over them. Then after that we had a big soccer tournament and it was a good night for everyone. It was just awesome how two groups from two different countries that speak two different languages could come together and praise the Lord together. That whole night was moving for everyone and I’m so glad for everyone that was a part of it.
The third thing that happened was my group went ziplining on our off day. There were 10+ ziplines that we went on and there were some awesome views we got and some awesome videos we took. It was an awesome experience for all of us and I’m so glad we all got to do it together. To me it was the coolest adventure we have had so far and I’m sure most of the group feels that way too. But if you’ve never been ziplining in another country I highly recommend it because we did some things with our guides on the ziplines that we could never do in the states…… Sorry Mom. But our guides were really cool and it was an awesome adventure for all of us. The cool thing that they never told us is that we were going to get a free workout also when we hiked a mile up the hill.
This week has been really cool but we will see what God has in store for the next week and a half and even the rest of this mission trip. I can’t wait to continue to tell y’all about the rest of this journey I’m on! Thanks everyone for checking out my blog and posting comments! Love y’all!
Noah
