Dear Faithful Readers,
This isn’t my usual blog, but wanted to bring some clarity to that BIG $17,000 figure up there on that donation bar across the top of my blog. That is a daunting figure!
Let me explain……The leadership that I’m under at Adventures in Mission right now wants me to begin to think in a missional mindset – not just short-term, but long term. And yes, that’s where the Lord has me and what He has/is forming in my heart and mind. As followers of Christ, we’re all to be on mission every day of our lives – living for Kingdom purposes no matter how that is fleshed out each day, each season. I hope and pray whatever the Lord leads me to do beyond this current semester of domestic missions, I will continue to live on mission for Him, whether that involves fundraising or not.
But if it does involve full-time ministry in the future and further fund raising, then this figure is established now for me to possibly pursue that with “life partners” on an annual basis. For now, I believe the Lord has called me to just these four months of missions across the United States, and Lord willing, I anticipate pursuing a full-time job for the summer beginning in June and college beginning next fall.
So, a more accurate goal for my financial needs for this mission journey this semester is more like a total of around $8,000 – far more attainable within just four months.
I’m trusting the Lord to provide my needs, and you won’t hear much more from me about raising funds unless the Lord gives me specific directive to do so. I much prefer a model like we see in Paul in the early church: he was a tentmaker who took his trade where he traveled and largely supported himself as he ministered and preached the gospel wherever he went.
If the Lord puts it on your heart to support me financially, I am extremely grateful, but I would only want that to come out of your own walk/talk with the Lord and clear prompting from Him.
As we journey across the U.S. the next few months, I’ll be sending out regular newsletters (not sure how often I’ll be blogging here). If you’d like to be added to that email list, please drop me a note at
[email protected] or text at 865-214-4293.
Mostly, thanks for your prayers, love, support as I seek to spread the gospel, promote a Kingdom lifestyle, and recruit young men across the U.S. to not only give their lives to Christ but to daily live sold-out for Kingdom purposes.
Thanks for reading; happy to answer any questions.
Blessings and Maranatha,
~ Nathan
