Hey everyone! I am beyond excited to announce that I will be taking a three-month missions trip to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama with the World Race. I want to tell you a little bit about myself and how I chose this next step. My name is Maddy Harvey and I’m 18 years old. I grew up in a Christian family in Southern California with my parents, two younger brothers, and younger sister. At the age of 9 my whole world was flipped around when my parents decided to move our family to the little country of Israel. I will forever be grateful for that move because I was not only faced with things that grew me as a person but also it grew my faith. It left me with a new sense of adventure and a deep passion for travel and a love for Jesus. 5 years later it was time to move back to the states and my family and I ended up in Fort Collins, Colorado. During my high school years, I went to a Christian school and in those 4 years my relationship with God grew. As I considered my future I knew I wanted to combine my passion for travel, serving others, and my love for God. When I came across the World Race program I knew immediately that this is what God was calling me to do it. As I applied and interviewed I was at complete peace and knew this was the right step. In the next three months, I will work with different local ministry’s in Central America. I will be able to emerge myself in the local culture and communities and share Gods love. I am beyond excited to see where this journey takes me and to see how God is going to use me in these foreign countries. This next chapter of my life is something I am so ready for.
