hey friends! so i wrote this on 9/24 but haven’t had the wifi to post it, but i can finally post it now! God bless KFC and their internet haha. I hope you enjoy this blog! 🙂

yesterday was our very first sabbath day on the race!
the night before sabbath our squad had an incredible time in worship! we were all in my teams room (it’s just a bunch of air mattresses in a common area haha it’s kind of the only place we can all fit together) and two of our team leaders were singing and playing guitar and it was so cool bc everyone was getting words of encouragement from the Lord and sharing them w everyone! it was so so sooo encouraging wow. (“king of my heart,” “on and on,” & “yes and amen” are some of my favorite worship songs & I would definitely recommend y’all give them a listen!)
here’s some of the encouragement I got from the Lord from worship & spending time w Him on our sabbath day:
- God’s got it! you don’t worry about it dude
- when we worship we’re simply joining the worship that’s already happening in heaven. like ??!?!?! I had never thought of it like that before & it just blows my mind!
- “you made a way when there was no way” this line from the song “do it again” really hit home for me. there’s nothing our God cannot do!
- God hears all of our prayers
- ALL YOUR PROMISES ARE YES & AMEN
- Jesus literally came down to earth to live like we did. He experienced life like we do bc He loves us THAT MUCH!
“when all the people were being baptized Jesus was baptized too.” Luke 3:21
I was honestly not looking forward to sabbath day just bc I knew we were supposed to be quiet so we could focus on the Lord. don’t get me wrong, I wanted to focus on the Lord, I just thought i would get bored. but I actually LOVE sabbath day!! I spent most of the day just pouring into my Bible (I’ve been going thru the book of Luke and would 11/10 recommend) being encouraged & asking questions & listening to the Lord. we had an amazing worship session the night before our sabbath day where I could just feel God giving me a big hug telling me everything is going to be okay back home. I had been worried about things back in the US but I’m learning that there’s literally nothing I can do about it but it’s okay bc He’s got it all under control!
I spent some time Bible journaling, listening to worship music, & watching as one of my squadmates wrote an amazing original worship song!! spending time in the Lord’s presence is unlike any other feeling
I also had the opportunity to hang out at KFC for a few hours & spend some time talking to people back home, posting blogs, & eating way too expensive chicken strips w bbq sauce that costs extra but is so so worth it.
& to top it all off, we had a movie night and we were able to just laugh and relax w each other!
over all, sabbath day was not what I was expecting, but it ended up being a really really good thing! sabbath was a great time for me to step back & reflect & listen.
I encourage all of you to take the time to just be still and listen to what the Lord is saying to you!
so yeah I love my squad, I love sabbath, I love Jesus
& I love Romanian off-brand nutella and KFCs chicken strips

I don’t have any pictures from sabbath, but here’s a really pretty sunset from last night! isn’t our God the most amazing artist? wow.
God is good!
