I’ve been home from training camp for three days, and it’s safe to say that I already miss my squad a tonnnn and CANNOT WAIT to travel the world with them while sharing the love of Jesus.

Y’all might be like Maddie? What is this training camp? WELLLLL it’s basically a ten day trip where we all go down to the World Race base in Georgia and we can all able to meet each other, hear a bunch of amazing speakers talk, and basically get a feel for what it’s going to be like on the field when we leave in September!

here’s a pic of our squad on the first day of training camp!

here are some funny shenanigans and things I’ve learned from training camp! (I posted about some of these already on my insta, but here’s a few more!)

  • what-are-the-odds is taken very seriously
  • crickets don’t taste good but apparently grasshoppers do
  • Georgia has some NICE tractors
  • Jacob knows my name
  • there’s no way to gracefully get out of a tent
  • sleeping in tents on a ground that is slanted is tricky
  • when we poop is talked about
  • Kyle has eyes
  • daddy long legs are only considered a level 2 not 10 emergency
  • dad music is actually kinda good
  • Danny has nicer hair than mine will ever be
  • there are different ways to say hammock? and egg?
  • watercoloring is actually super relaxing, even if you don’t know what you’re doing
  • hand hugs are appropriate
  • clif bars save the day
  • bucket showers aren’t that bad!
  • Georgia thunderstorms are a BLESSING when that means you can sleep in AC
  • there’s nothing like the excitement of when the truck came to empty the porta potties
  • we’re Karen’s biggest fans
  • boys have a different sense of humor I guess?
  • stacking enos is funny but kinda terrifying
  • making friendship bracelets takes a ton of concentration and patience
  • being able to freely worship our God surrounded by people you love is the best feeling ever
  • bugs are bigger in Georgia
  • napkins are a luxury
  • the way we move by longhorne slim is a GREAT song
  • marvel impressions are common in this squad
  • you can still win squad wars even if you lost every game
  • It’s easy to spend lotssss of money on snacks
  • some things just hit different
  • dance battles are taken very seriously
  • crossing the river and flipping a towel is kinda difficult
  • hydrate or diedrate
  • fanny packs are stylish
  • Cami can cut bangs
  • hiking with a big fat pack up a super steep hill ain’t fun
  • chacos>>>>>> (but no toe straps)
  • Gel can cook without burning her eyebrows off
  • sticking your face in a bowl of flour will have you pulling lil biscuits out of your hair for the rest of the day
  • dodgeball is intense
  • having a good sleeping pad and fan is a MUST
  • pooping in the shower stalls just ain’t it
  • so there are scorpions in Georgia?
  • your squad still loves you even when you look crusty
  • and finally, X SQUAD IS THE BEST SQUAD

here’s a pic of us right after we won squad wars 🙂

also BIGGGGG shoutout to everyone who helped me reach my $5,000 deadline to go to training camp! I love you guys and appreciate you all so so much! Your prayers for me have been so incredibly helpful and I wouldn’t be where I am without you! The support y’all have given really does mean the world to me!

&&& if you guys could keep me in your prayers, as I have ANOTHER fundraising deadline on August 22 for $10,000. If you feel led, please consider supporting me and sharing my story. Please also pray for my other squad mates who need to reach this deadline, too! Also, please pray for preparation for me and the people in my life as the time for Launch when our squad leaves gets closer.

there are definitely more blog posts about training camp on the way, so stay tuned 😉

God is good!
