Hey, y’all! Mack here. For my very first post I thought I would give a tiny description of what exactly the World Race is and why I am doing it.
Lets start with the what!-
This is a great video that will sort of give a rundown of the basics of World Race: Semesters.
In my own words, this is a three month journey to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama in order to serve the Lord and spread His word to people who may not have heard it before. We also get a chance to serve the people there and give them a chance to see God through our actions.
And now the why.-
If you know me, then at some point you have heard me talk about my intense passion for volleyball and desire to play in college. After receiving offers and becoming even more familiar with being an eventual college athlete, I prayed and prayed. Things fell through or came crashing down and I was confused, so of course, I turned to prayer.
Through a series of events and gut feelings, I finally heard God telling me, “I know what you want to do, I see where you want to be, but right now, I need you here.” And whoosh, all of a sudden, it became clear to me, I needed to serve.
At a YoungLife work crew weekend a few days later, I confided in some people about my experience, and at least 12 people over the course of two days gave me names and numbers and social media all leading back to this one organization: World Race.
I decided to put my plans aside in order to glorify His plan for me, and I know that there is no better route than what the Lord has in store.
