Hey y’all! Just a quick update of the last week and half. Last week we finished our final days of ministry at Impact Africa in Johannesburg. It was incredibly difficult to leave the ministry that we had been apart of and pouring into and to leave the people that had been pouring into us. We were living with twelve college age interns at the Impact Africa base and several other staff members. All of us had formed close bonds with people from the Impact Africa team which made leaving their ministry and their presence hard for us. On Friday last week, we woke up in the early hours of the morning to travel from Johannesburg to Nelspruit (also in South Africa), where we are having our debrief for the first month. Most of the interns even woke up with as at 4 in the morning to say goodbye. The last few days have been restful, encouraging, fun, and helped prepare us for our next two months of ministry. We have talked about dependency on the Lord, intimacy with the Lord, community with each other, and many other things. Yesterday, we took an adventure day and headed to Kruger National Park for a Safari! This was such a cool opportunity to step away from our every day conversations and take in the beauty and glory of God’s creation. I am still in awe of all that He has created in this world, and it all points back to how much He loves us and cares for us, to create something so beautiful. It also points us to worship Him for how mighty He truly is. Today is our final day at debrief and we leave tomorrow morning to head to eSwatini (Swaziland). The last month has taught me so much about myself and about God and I am so excited to see what He has in store for my team and I in our next two months of ministry.
