The last couple weeks on Komodo Island has been an overwhelming blessing that I find hard to put into the proper words to do it justice.

My team and I prayed and asked the Lord (ATL) where He would have us go. He spoke clearly to each one of us. We received pink flowers, pink sand, head south, third island over, and children.

We started researching and discovered that Komodo Island was the only place that it could be. He then placed a Christian, Balinese woman in our path that confirmed this location for us. She said she had only been off of Bali once and it was to Komodo Island and that we needed to go there.

We all had peace about going. We were unsure what to expect because no other World Race team had ever gone there before. The journey there started with a little hiccup as we couldn’t get on our flight to the big island we were going to catch the ferry to Komodo Island on. We got a hostel for the night and rested in the fact that God’s timing is perfect!

When we got to the dock to get on the ferry we saw a large pretty boat but soon realized the ferry we would be taking the 4 to 5 hour trip on was small and packed.

But the connections started right away. I was sitting next to a sweet man that I was able to talk to and get to know about his life. When we arrived, I was immediately drawn to the village and people.

The village sits right on the ocean and is extremely remote and seems cut off from the rest of the world. We stayed in huts lifted off the ground, used squaty potty’s and took bucket showers.

The beauty God created with this amazing island and ocean is breathtaking! Yet the beauty of the people is even more so!! Their welcoming hearts, their smiles, their hospitality, their generosity, their willingness to share, their giving us the opportunity to teach their children all just blew me away! I fell in love with them.

The family we stayed with was so amazing. They treated us like family. They wanted us to stay and so did the children we were privileged to work with. I have to admit, I longed to stay as well.

God moved and worked in mighty ways while we were there. We were able to share the love of Jesus, the Lord had me speak in the native tongue and carry on a conversation with one of the young girls (even though I do not speak the language) and 3 ladies were healed the second to last day that we were there.

God is so good all the time. He never ever ceases to amaze me!

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be all glory!“ Ephesians 3:20
