Dear loved ones,

As my senior year comes to an end, as well as my time at home, I am preparing to venture out into one of the most exciting chapters of my life. This summer, I will be serving the lord in Ecuador with the World Race Program and I am blessed to have such an amazing opportunity.

I would like to share with you a little bit about my relationship with the Lord and how I wish to impact the people I encounter on this trip.

The first time I became truly invested in my faith was after one of my first years at summer camp. Because I was surrounded by a community that was so overwhelmingly loving and uplifting, I wanted to spread that same love with the people around me. It took me realizing that they all had one thing in common: their strong and genuine relationship with the Lord. John 15:12 reads “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” This inspires me to not only live through Christ every day, but to love everyone as Jesus would. My goal is to remain faithful to the ideals of the Lord and attempt to spread and develop these beliefs within the younger generation so that they too may be morally and faithfully equipped.

To me, this trip is all about reaching that one more. I believe that all people should strive to strengthen their relationship with the Lord by going outside of their comfort zones to spread God’s word. Jesus left the 99, which was the comfortable, to chase after that one more. I have been called on this journey to serve the Lord and I know that He will empower me throughout this endeavor. It is not my own abilities, but what Christ is able to do through me that will allow me to spread love and joy to the people of Ecuador. There are no limitations, “for his power was made perfect in my weakness” 2 Corinthians 12:9. So here I am, ready to go forth in the strength and grace of God.

Here are some things I ask you to pray for:

  • That God will provide financially.

  • That the Lord will be working in the hearts of my team members and myself.

  • That I will fully believe and live out Romans 12:9-13: “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.”

  • That the Lord will have His hands around my team and me, and that we will stay safe.

I’ll be serving in many different ways while in Ecuador, including caring for elderly patients at a hospital in Quito and teaching English to orphaned and impoverished children. I am so blessed to have been granted with this opportunity and I can’t wait to see where God leads me on this journey. But, in order to get from Florida to Ecuador, I must raise $4,100. This number may look daunting, but I am fully confident that the Lord will provide. The money will cover airfare, living accommodations, training, and all other expenses. I want to invite you to be a part of this ministry.
