Dear Squad X,
It seems that we all want to be known. Being known by someone else just makes you feel loved and appreciated. We’ve actually talked a lot about that in team time. With that being said, I’ve loved getting to know your quirks and regularities. I love creating this community of intimacy with you, using scraps of light information and the deep things with weight. We’re growing as the body and a family.
So after one month, X-men, here are the little things that I know (and love) about you:
Paige waking up at 7:30 is actually her sleeping in.
Olivia has an album of ‘pointing pics’ on her phone. She also makes crazy faces. What a hoot.
When we come up to the ministry place, Aidyn always hugs that one tree.
Kori “Koko” loves to do little things for people. She re-laced my knock-off Vans, and now they’re my favorite.
Danny will always finish my plate for me. He can also down a tub of sour cream, no question.
Abi always wears the same starry choker- style. icon.
Abbie, Emily and I have the same middle name.
The reason why Morgan is afraid of cats.
Lingo like “Brick”, “Cheesed”, and “Period” ??
Maddie likes to bounce on beds. Also, her laugh is infectious
Sumer had her first ever cup of coffee this month. She also drinks a lot of aloe juice.
The names of your parents, nieces, friends, and the kids you babysit.
Lise is funny-funny, not goofy-funny. And she has a cherry tattoo, just because.
Both Philip and Aidyn have their own lil bottles of Tabasco.
Taylor has some fresh zips– shorts by day, pants by night.
Megan is such a gem. She’ll give you a hug even if she hardly knows you.
Mackenzie’s not a headband girl, but she’s testing them out.
Nikki is a strong midwesterner. We just dropped, like, 25 degrees and she’s still wearing shorts.
Emi and Morgan have detailed plans for their future tattoos.
Emalani has a really pretty middle name.
Val’s pretty good at caligraphy!
Jacob tucks his pants into his socks. He also farts on people.
Cami, Kori, and Kate Goeler are all Latina Princesses.
Gel taught me how to iron. She just loves ironing.
Kate Anderson usually has a Sprite or a coffee.
Emi’s favorite coffee shops are Frogg and Fourteen-Eighteen– she wants to open her own coffee shop one day!
The boys are really good with movie quotes.
Jenay is learning how to play uke. Some of the songs she’s working on are The Judge and Fly Me to the Moon (it’s delightful).
Cami’s into tea and essential oils.
Sumer and Morgan have plans to live in a decked out bus (complete with a garage).
Val loves wafers. It’s growing to be our staple snack, too.
Emalani is an ice cream and coffee connoisseur.
Anna is always down for What are the Odds, and loses at the funniest times. She’s a trooper about following through, though.
Someone’s always in the hallway.
Nathan is crazy passionate about creative worship. He also has a sick noodle dance ??(and the Lord is pleased)
Mackenzie has been trying to buy tape for the past month.
Kate A. and I have the same sweater!
Kyle is a better Gordon Ramsey than Gordon Ramsey. He’s also really fun to play Mafia with.
Nikki doesn’t know how to cut pineapple, but she knows how to warm our hearts ?? (#truestory)
Kate Goeler has some cool hats.
Philip has been schooling people on Interstellar since he was 14. He just gets that stuff. He also has really good movie taste.
Cami and Jenay give some of the best hugs ever.
Emily will randomly make you a cup of coffee, and Olivia always makes London Fogs.
Aidyn is 5’7″, she towers over us all.
Kori, Taylor and I are the same personality type.
Danny has his own brand of bedtime stories.
Gel loves to jam out to the Jonas Brothers- she always listens to the same song, too
Megan has a banging Disney playlist.
Emi’s favorite snack is popcorn.

Paige will belt out the most passionate rendition of Rescue you’ve ever heard.
Squad X, to know you is to love you. Thank you for letting me be part of your family. I can’t wait to get to know you more 🙂
