Hi there! Welcome to my blog!
My name is Kenzie Vogelsang, I was born and raised in a suburb outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. I am one of four kids, with one older sister and two younger brothers! I was raised in a traditional Christian family home, my family is very close and I wouldn’t be who I am today without them.
I am a very sporty and athletic person. Next year I will be a senior at Lakota East High School, graduating in 2020. I am apart of the Lakota East Matching band, and I have been in color guard for 10 seasons! For my final year of marching band, I will be section leader of the guard. I have also done Tae Kwon Do for 7 years and achieved my 2nd degree black belt! I was also an instructor for 4 years.
I am very passionate about kids, and helping people! Ever since I was in 4th grade, I have loved helping people. After the World Race, I plan on going to college to get a degree in nursing, and eventually working in a hospital as a pediatric oncology nurse!
Other Fun Facts about me!
– I have taken 2 years of ASL classes and plan on minoring in ASL in college
– I LOVE Hot Tamales! For my 16th birthday party I was given 32 boxes!
– My favorite color is yellow, just like lemons and sunflowers
– My favorite animal is a monkey ! I love how much attitude they have!
– From 1st grade to 6th grade I took piano lessons (I’ve lost all talent lol) I moved on to playing bass clarinet in the school band, which lasted 3 years. I am now playing the ukulele, which I LOVE!
As I leave for the World Race, I pray everyday that I will meet people that will leave a lasting imprint on my life. I am taking a HUGE leap out of my comfort zone, and I am embarking on this journey with an open mind and an open heart. God has been my rock throughout my entire life, and I know he will be by my side through it all.
“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” Hebrews 6:10
