This past semester, I have learned a whole lot about what discernment looks like for me and how to navigate God’s will for our lives. This has been revealed through a lot of different ways, mainly a series of me trying to control my future and the Lord humbling me– quite graciously.

I have a tendency to be indecisive and also to over-spiritualize things. I’m like “Okay God, I think I know what you’re telling me, but if you could just send like 3 more signs– that would be great.” I am scared to make decisions in fear that I am being disobedient to the Lord one way or another. Yet He calls us to move in faith and obedience, not sit in worry, curating stagnant faith.

I am in constant search for a burning bush to tell me the exact path to take. When the truth is, we don’t need a burning bush. We have the Holy Spirit inside of us, discerning our everyday thoughts, helping us internalize scripture, and making wise choices. Moses didn’t have the Holy Spirit in him so the burning bush was just a creative way for God to speak to him! Yes, the Lord absolutely could still send us a literal burning bush- He can do it all! But, sometimes He just speaks softly to us by exciting our hearts for a certain idea or through talking with a wise friend.

It had also deeply overwhelmed me when there were multiple potential paths to take. In college there is a big emphasis on whether or not you’re going to take summer classes or work at a camp, and if you do- which camp? I was faced with so many decisions (all of which I can look back at now realizing what the Lord was doing in my heart!), I got so caught up in analyzing which choice would best honor the Lord when in reality, if we are in constant and genuine pursuit of the King- everything we do is glorifying to Him! Whether you move back home for the summer and work, spend all summer on mission, take an internship, or work at a summer camp- our daily actions should constantly reflect Christ and draw others near no matter our location or occupation.

Peru has been on my heart for four whole years and I am over the moon excited to get to share Christ’s love with His people. Please continue to pray over this trip and the country of Peru! Expectant to see the Lord move in big ways this summer. :’-)

Thx & Gig ’em!!!
