Sometimes I have a moment where I’m not always sure what winding road I took that brought me to my current place. But all I know is that God has been the one directing me,…even when I try to be the backseat driver.

In February of this year, I was finally going to end my somewhat short lived career as an international school teacher. As often as my job had its wonderful moments and people, I always knew where I was teaching was not the end of the job search. I prayed and I prayed asking God when I could move on, and when the time finally came I was nervous. But you know what God told me? “Trust Me”.  And I did. Hearing from the Holy Spirit always gives me the biggest rush of confidence and courage to do the… crazy? Impossible? Unplanned?

That initial step in faith was the first hurdle. Next was having enduring patience until He says what’s next.

OK, Julita. You have gone through ‘what nexts’ before. Just wait on Him… No faithless freak outs allowed.

Yup. That was the repeated conversation I had with myself. Over, and over again. Why? Because God is always faithful and He hasn’t failed me yet!
I’m very much a planner by nature, so letting go of the reigns completely is difficult. But since I know who’s taking over for me, its completely thrilling.

Three months after officially letting my school know I would not be returning for the 19-20 school year, and three months of faithfully waiting with baited breath, I got hit hard with the travel bug. I needed to go. Anywhere. In the midst of fantasizing about a backpacking trip through Europe, a dear friend and sister in Christ asks me, “Why not do the Race?”. I instantly knew what she was talking about. So I looked up The World Race.

The World Race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries where a team of missionaries and I will be serving people and their communities, ministering and preaching the gospel, and sharing the love of Christ.

I had heard about The World Race years ago, but I was not in a place nor did I have the heart to go. But this times, things were different. I said “Lord, is there where I’m going?”. I had that application filled out and submitted faster than you could say “praise the Lord”. The interview was a couple of days later and I committed on Good Friday.

So that’s how I got here: preparing to “launch” to my first country, Bolivia, in January 2020.

Bless you for reading this far.

Now, what’s next?

In order to go out into the mission field, I need to raise $19,800. This money covers my living, travel, and ministry expenses for the 11 months I am going to be out doing Kingdom Work. I need all of the prayer and support I can get for this massive undertaking. So would you please prayerfully consider helping launch in January?

Thank you and God bless!

                                                                                  XOXO,

                                                                                                    Julita
