I want to share a testimony with y’all!

As you all know, I’m home, getting back into the swing of things. I got a job. (Got to make money so that I can pay for adulting!) I’m a Shipt shopper. For the many of you that don’t know what that is, essentially I go to grocery stores and shop for people and deliver those groceries to their front door.

In order to do my job I need a vehicle to get myself to the store and to each customer’s house. I got this job maybe a month after being home. I did the best that I could do considering my brother now drives the car that I drove for 4 years. I borrowed his car and my mom’s car as often as I could, but it wasn’t cutting it for me. I got tired quickly of waiting to do my job when there was a car available to borrow. I wanted my own car. I was looking online for cars for sale in the midst of it all. My dad and I went to look at several and I got to test drive them.

Being so anxious for my own car, I liked every car that I drove. I also drove ones that I could see myself driving so it made sense.

I drove a Toyota Prius Compact, and several Honda Fits. I liked those cars but the one car that I knew I wanted was a Honda CR-V. Of course, CR-Vs are popular and so they were hard to find for my price range with good mileage. So, I was willing to settle for a Honda Fit.

It took an hour trip out to see and test drive a Honda Fit to realize that it won’t fit what I want to do with my car. (did you catch the pun??XD) I was planning on driving back and forth to Georgia a few times. Essentially I wanted a good highway car and my dad and I found out that the Fit was not good for that. It didn’t go very fast very quickly like you would need a car to do to merge a highway. When we floored it, it sounded like it was going 60 mph but it was going 40.

That one that I drove was in my price range and I liked it enough to buy right then and there. However, there was a problem with the fuse because the key remote to unlock the car wouldn’t work and the radio wouldn’t work and that kept us from buying it on the spot.

Getting really discouraged after that, I cried out to God. I asked him to bless me with the exact car I wanted. I got specific. I asked for a color, the mileage, the price, for a good radio and aux.

I also asked God to have me drive directly behind 3 CR-Vs the next day if I was supposed to get a CR-V. Guess what happened! I was directly behind CR-Vs exactly 3 times the next day. No more, no less! Thanks God!

My dream car in my prayer was a newer model of a blue, white, or silver Honda CR-V with a good radio, an aux cord that will also charge my phone, with cruise control, good mileage and for a good price.

I actually prayed for the CR-V before I was done looking at Honda Fits. When we realized the Fit wasn’t a good fit, God was like, “You prayed for the CR-V, yet you haven’t been looking at them or driving them.” (I was looking online) I always use the quote, “Faith without works is dead.” So I realized I wasn’t working after putting my faith in God.

Long story short, I find a few CR-Vs that I like that are good prices with good mileage and my dad and I plan to go see them on a Friday. The day of, my dad finds a better one on Craig’s list that he thinks we should look at first. So we did and wow. This car was perfect. It was exactly what I prayed for. We test drove it and I had a feeling that was the one. I couldn’t contain my excitement very well, although I did my best to not seem desperate to the seller. She was a private seller, which is what my dad wanted to buy from.

We made an offer, she said that it was too low so we met in the middle. We tried to leave with it, but she wanted to wait for her husband and there was a few hiccups to deal with. They didn’t have the title for the car so it was more complicated to buy. We left without it but I knew that was it. We had agreed on a price and we stayed in contact with the seller. They couldn’t get the title easy but they agreed to sell it to us and get the title when they could. Praise God!

My dad and I went and got a check from the bank and met them on a Monday to get the car and give them the check.

I bought a car!! I drove it home with a smile on my face the whole 30 minute drive home! I was so happy!

I named her and everything! Her name is Lady. She’s a white, 2011 Honda CR-V with 102,000 miles. She has aux that charges my phone, a good radio, cruise control and we got her for a great price! My dad kept calling her a unicorn because she was a rare find.

Just a few days ago I met the seller again and got the title from her. Now all that is left to do is get a new license plate for her! I could not be more thankful!

If I’m being completely honest, I don’t think I would have had the faith to trust that God would give me the exact car I asked for if it weren’t for the race. The race strengthened my faith for sure!

Since having my car, I’ve worked a lot, driven to see friends and stayed out as long as I wanted, and I drove to Georgia to see my teammate Chelsea!! I’m so thankful!

Here’s a picture of my treasured, beautiful and cute car!
