Hi! My name is Hannah Maher. I am 31 years old and live in Kansas City, Missouri.
I’ve spent the last 10 years in corporate America as a sales executive and even spent 2 years managing an international sales office in Luxembourg, Europe. I am not the typical missionary…but then again, who is?!
I love my family. My parents, Peggy & Tony, have been together for over 35 years. I am the oldest of 4 kids. My siblings are some of my best friends (Sam, Parker & Haley).
I love my church family and dear friends from Hillsong Kansas City. It was after moving back to the states from Europe that I found my church home at The Cause/Hillsong KC…and that’s where I also found a true relationship with Jesus.
The past 5 years have been life changing for me – and it’s all because of Jesus.
In the last 10 months, I have been traveling to Kennesaw, Georgia to complete my Yoga Teacher Training from a Christian Perspective at New Day Yoga, taught by Dayna Gelinas. It’s been a beautiful journey and I officially graduate as a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance on November 10, 2019!
My vision for getting certified is to use Christian Yoga as I travel to 11 countries in 11 months on the World Race Missions Trip. I want to help my fellow missionary racers, our ministry hosts, Christians in foreign countries and even people who don’t know Christ all over the world to connect their minds, bodies and spirits to Jesus through yoga.
I will be traveling through the heartland of yoga during my missions trip as I visit 6 countries in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal and India) and then 5 countries in Africa (South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Zambia).
I would love for you to be a part of my journey by subscribing to my blog or checking out my website, where I plan to post yoga videos and describe how God is moving in the countries I visit!
Saying ‘yes’ to The World Race has been the biggest act of faith of my life. I am totally surrendering to the will of God, and at times, that can feel a bit scary. I am leaving behind my family, friends, a great job, my apartment, comforts of home…everything I know and care about. What I do know, is that God is good and He has a plan for me. This journey will not always be easy; it is an alabaster offering for Him. But it’s worth every sacrifice to know Him even more.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” -Matthew 28: 19-20
I would like to ask you to support me in prayer while I’m on my trip – and for everyone I meet along the way. And if you are moved in your heart to be a part of the miracle of His provision, I will be eternally grateful for your contribution!
