Hi! My name is Hannah Gillen.  I am 19 years old and live in Zionsville, Indiana.  I have seven other siblings of which I fall in the middle. After much prayer and seeking His will I believe the Lord has called me to follow Him on a journey proclaiming His name wherever He leads me.

I am from a military family and spent the first years of my life traveling.  I was born in Wichita, Kansas, the home of Dorothy and Toto from the Wizard of Oz.  I lived on the McConnell Air Force base housing where my dad was finishing 20 years of active duty service.  From the wheat fields of Kansas, my family moved to the East coast of South Carolina where we set our roots for the next seven years.  During that time, my family and I would spend days at the beach, exploring local historic sites, such as Fort Sumter, or just browse the variety of local produce at the farmer’s markets.  I started kindergarten at Palmetto Christian Academy but left after I finished fourth grade so we could move to one of the top corn producing states, Indiana.  Instead of sending me to public schools my parents decided to start homeschooling me and my siblings.  Gymnastics has been a major motivation and favorite passion of mine for at least 10 years.  I have also been coaching the sport and dance for at least 2 and a half years.  Piano, art, and singing in the car also fall into the “favorite hobbies” category.

I have never been on a missions trip or even outside of the country but the World Race is a great way to accomplish both.   Traveling has always been a large part of my life and one of my  ultimate favorite things to do.  I believe that being able to reach out to the lost peoples of different countries, such as South Africa, Ecuador, and Cambodia is an amazing opportunity! This is my chance to give hope to those who thirst for it and find my identity in Christ and who He designed me to be. One of my favorite quotes is from the movie “Up”: “Adventure is out there!” A simple, but incredible reminder to look for those new angles in life and nurture the talents and passions God has given us.

Feel free to journey with me on this amazing opportunity, not only to sight see (other than from Google) or to keep updated, but to witness lives change through the power of the cross!
