“…so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7

This season in-between training camp and launch has been a weird one. Patiently waiting till the day comes where I move to South Africa, building on things I learned at training camp, and growing in my faith and relationship with God. This season has taught me so many new things, about myself and about the Lord. One of the things I’ve really been pressing into is the importance of being deeply rooted. Jesus talks time and time again about the importance of a strong foundation and deep roots, and the importance of being filled with Him. Over these past few weeks I’ve been pushing myself to get into the Word as much as possible, strengthening my foundation for these next 9 months. “The stronger the tree, the more fruit it will bear” is a phrase I’m holding onto tightly as I prepare for the Race.
This brings me to the next thing I’ve been working on since training camp. After you have a strong foundation, what do you do with it? You continue to grow while sharing what made you so strong, and you sow seeds along the way. The more I learn about the Gospel, the more I know I can’t keep it to myself. This is where walking in light comes in. We are called to take everything we know about the Gospel and live it out. Don’t just talk about it. Live it. This is the best way to show others the love of Christ. Walking in the Kingdom and using everything we know about the Lord and his never-ending love causes us to radiate a light like no other. Being a light and being love allows us to grow closer with the Lord and with one another.
Being deeply rooted and madly in love with Jesus, and then living it out and walking in His light isn’t easy, but it’s so worth it.
It’s.
So.
Worth it.
