Graduation: Skip
Man I was excited! The plan was: get master’s degree, take a trip to California to walk that graduation stage in December, and then a month later I’d be on the plane leaving the country to go tell the world about Jesus for close to an entire year! Sounds like a dream right?
Well…
The dream was a little altered when I found myself having to consider the cost to walk the stage, and weight it against the cost of being able to go tell the people of Asia whose never heard about Jesus, about Jesus.
“graduation or…
…great commision?”
To go to the beautiful California, walk the stage and a great University, take a nice photo, celebrate my accomplishment personally, and then share it with the world on all social media platforms…cost? About $1,000…
…about $1,000 out of the spiritually hungrys’ mouths and about $1,000 independent of a gospel that needed to be spread to unreached people groups, and servants who have little to no ministry help as they obey the commandment of the great commision to the best of their ability with what they have, and more.
$1000??
$1,000 is is not a lot of money, EXCEPT that not only does it put a damper on me being able to share hope with those who are being rescued from sex trafficking in one of the hottest red light districts in the world, OR those who so desperately want life but haven’t heard about Jesus yet, OR even those who are new converts, but have no one to help disciple them or teach them the Word of God…it also affects ME.
Affects me HOW?
Giving up $1,000 to go to my graduation affects that 15 year old girl in me who always wanted to give her life away to make sure that people heard about and accept Jesus. It affects that girl who said, “wherever I am, that will be my mission field” who also strongly knew that God had given her a heart for the least in our world…those who have been the most forgotten and the most neglected.
It affects that girl who has always had a burning burden to go where the freest gift to others, Jesus, would cost her everything (complacency, American dream, friends at times, a life compromised, etc.)…but that same free gift to those just 10 & 40 degrees latitude, could cost them their very life on this earth. BUT, she is yearning to share this gift, because it’s reward is an EXCEEDINGLY better life for those who receive it. The girl, is me…the gift, is salvation through Jesus Christ of Nazareth and the opportunity to be born again by the Spirit of God.
The Future: How You Can Help
Is populating Heaven worth it? Heaven is the future, Eternity with Jesus however can begin right now for any person who hears the gospel of Jesus and receive Him as savior. Can you imagine not having hope? Take a second, close your eyes, and imagine there was never a savior. For all the hardship, all the grief, all the sickness and pain, the suffering…what would you put your hope in? Not death, because with no King, there is no Heavenly Kingdom to then go to. Millions are living life without this truth and this hope. What is it worth to you, that me and others like me will go and spread this hope we have found? In 39 days, fully funded or not, I am getting on that plane with what I have, in response to the Matthew 28 call to go. Your finances are equally important to God and the spreading of this gospel. As you pray for me, can you also send me? Please, click the “Donate” button to give. I will keep petitioning for it, because it’s worth it.
