Grand gestures…
They are beautiful and say a whole lot to those on the receiving end, and on the outside looking in…We risk ourselves and become vulnerable in the expression of how we feel. The significance in proving oneself and overly exerting physical demonstration of what the heart feels is beyond my level of genius, but in the scope of my basic understanding of validation. It is justified, when genuine, and it is explosive to those who partake in this special exchange of affirmation…
I am willing to bet that today, somewhere in the world some man went some extravagant distance, strapped his creative boots so high, and got deep in the ocean of vulnerability to propose to the woman of his wildest dreams, asking her to be yoked with him forever. And today, somewhere both near and far, some man or woman is being celebrated in an extraordinary way for some achievement, some anniversary, or some significant life change that had to be commemorated with kind words, gifts, and in a way that was unforgettable and undeniably special. Maybe even in some place far far away, like the amazon jungle, some mama lovebird is incubating her eggs while her mate risks his life to go find food down in the forest to prove his love, even if it costs him his life. These are grand gestures! They are beautiful and say a whole lot to those on the receiving end, and on the outside looking in. However, the beauty of true love, the proof of it, is not in the grand gesture. It is in the lifelong commitment to un-circumstantially say yes every day to the joys, the pains, the losses, and the gains of destiny…
This has been my goal. Fortunate for me, my model for this is someone who mastered a love so perfect that over 2000 years later, His yes still resounds so loud in the hearts of those that truly know Him. His yes to the cross represented a love so true, that the grave is now actually a reunion and celebration for those who love Him because there, lovers have been reunited once more, as well as a son to a Father, a friend to a Friend, and a bride to a Groom….
A bride to a groom…I said yes. Yes upon the dying of my flesh. I said yes to sharing this truth, the truth that there is hope, true love, and real freedom in covenant with Jesus the lover of our souls, because He already paid the price so that no one else has to die in fear of eternity apart from Him. No one else has to die! Not in fear of no eternity at all because they don’t know OF Him. NOT EVER! NO one has to die! Because in Him there is life! HE is life…
The world needs this truth! This is why I am joining the World Race. To show that this word I have given, this yes, is more than a grand gesture, it is bond. It is an unconditional, daily act of true love. It is the embodiment of Jesus’ love. It is not just me doing things to show God that I love Him, but it is being the very person that deflects His love naturally everywhere that I go, and aligning my life to send a resounding signal to all of creation that He is alive, and He is love, and that all who desire to live, in Him they shall live! (Eph 2:5)…
I invite all who will, to join me in saying yes. By praying, by sharing, and by giving you are saying yes to the spreading of the Gospel and God’s love, and you enter into the race alongside me. In Spirit, we go together! Send me to do the will of the Father, and in good faith I thank you in advance for being apart of this with me because this is a journey with God. What you see here is not simply a grand gesture, but a life laid down instead. Every day I will lay it down. Until all have heard, and for God’s glory. Bless You, and may your giving be blessed doubly.
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved” -Ephesians 2:4-5
