Hey y’all!!

Well we made it to Peru! 49 hours of travel and we finally made it! So glad!

Our time in the mountains of Ecuador was so so needed for me, and while it was a challenge, I miss it! The Lord provided for us exactly when we needed it. The missionary couple from the states who lived on the compound were able to act like mom and dad for us which was something we needed and didn’t even know! Our past host, Fabi and his wife, Mabe, and their little baby girl, Alegria, came to visit and talk to us the afternoon before we left! Seeing him and listening to their wise words were such encouragement for us!

•Story time!!•

•During the last day of being in the mountains, we did an activity. Each of us spread out on the mountains side and sat in solitude for three hours. No journals, phones, or music. Only our sandwich for lunch and a Bible. And so I laid on a bench, rolled up in my blanket and invited the Lord to speak to me. After awhile I finally talked through everything on my mind and I had no more the think about. I just rested. I sang whatever worship song came to mind and just rested in the lap of Jesus. To be honest, I didn’t have some revelation, I didn’t hear or see something that I knew was from the Lord. I just was still. I pretended I was having a conversation with Jesus. I just talked through every anxiety, fear or hurt I had. While I was talking, I realized how much peace I had about it. When I gave myself to sit and literally have a conversation with the Lord, I never felt anxiety about said topics. After the three hours, I still had those past thoughts but there was no weight to them. Jesus is sorting everything out. •

49 hours later, we are in Peru! When posting this, we have only been here for a day. There are many many differences than Ecuador. It is definitely feels like less welcoming of a culture, the driving is sooo crazy….Uber rides are always nerve wracking. I’ve caught myself looking up for mountains, out of habit and they aren’t there! That is what I miss the most.

We are staying with people who work with YWAM, in a three story apartment in the city. It isn’t the most luxurious of places but we have beds and more than one bathroom. The showers are cold but they are still showers! We are doing an orientation later tonight to hear about the different ministries we will work with. From what I understand is that we will be doing a lot of people interaction and I believe working with a new church each week! Exciting stuff!

Thanks for following along! I’ll update y’all with more stories the next time I can!

Love,

Emma
