I have posted several blogs about what the Lord is doing in my life and in my heart through the trip. However, I decided to show everyone what the Lord is doing through me on the trip! We have sanded and painted and sanded and painted again.
We have :
•painted in our host home, and at Pan de Vida.
•separated clothes donations by size and gender, then paired outfits so they can be given away quickly.
•weighed out 2lb bags of rice for food donations.
•served in the kitchen for several ministry outreach’s through Pan de Vida.
•helped teach children and teenagers how to speak English.
•cleaned benches, chairs, and tables, while praying for the people God would put in those seats.
•picked up trash
•swept the road
•worshiped with the staff at Pan de Vida
•played with over 150 children
•served hot meals
•prepared vitamins for children and adults to give away
Our squad has split into two teams now. Team 1 is still at Pan de Vida. Meanwhile, Team 2 has began serving at a special needs home of all ages. This journey is incredible.
While we work in the kitchen, we’re not just chopping onions and peppers. We’re preparing food so someone can have a hot meal, probably the only one they’d have that day. We’re not just cleaning seats, we’re preparing the spot where someone will encounter Jesus. We’re not just separating clothes, we’re helping a struggling family stay warm or clothe an infant. We’re not just painting walls, we’re adding a layer of protection from the sun on places God is working in. God is not just working on our hearts, He’s working through our hearts.
