Hello everyone! As you have probably noticed by now, I am Emma Heptinstall! This is the blog I will use from here on out, so subscribe to receive updates from my time on The World Race!
A little bit about me
- I grew up in a Southern Baptist church, Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, until I was about 12/13 years old. From that point on, I bounced around a few different churches until I found my way to Desperation Church, where I really began to understand living in purpose. In 2017, I participated in LeadershipU (at the time, everyone still called it “the internship”). Skip a few years ahead, and my family is back together at Pine Grove, but I still love Desperation with my whole heart.
- I am a full-time college student at Wallace State Community College majoring in Law Enforcement, full-time employee at Bradford Health Services, and a part-time volunteer for White Wolf LLC.
- Some of my hobbies include running, hiking, journaling, playing softball, petting my sweet dog, reading, and spending time with my family.I love spending time outdoors, adventuring into the woods, reading a good book, and enjoying nature, and if I am lucky, that is all in one day!
- I have the hands-down, most gorgeous niece on planet Earth. I am the little sister to the roughest, toughest, beautiful, and inspiring woman I call Livie (her real name is Olivia, but livie is how you know you’re close). God blessed me with 3 step brothers and 2 twin step sisters, a step mother (we call her P), and a stepfather (I just call him pop though) in 2011. Now, in 2019, I couldn’t imagine my life without any of them. They all shaped me and prayed me into the woman I am becoming everyday.
- I am surrounded with the most amazing and encouraging friends a girl could ask for.
- Lets get coffee and talk about Jesus
- If anyone in my squad is reading this, please mentally prepare yourself for corny jokes, tons of laughter, and my Andy Griffin/the Office references. On a serious note, I am praying for each of you daily, and I firmly believe we are not all in the same squad by accident. The Lord has brought us together to work together to build the Kingdom one person at a time, share the Gospel, and to re-present Jesus to the communities around us and the ones that will be around us August-November.
- When the Lord finally told me it was my turn to go on the World Race, I started to firmly believe that anything He has called me to, He will sustain me through.
- “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teaching these new disciples to obey all of the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” Matthew 28:19-20 NLT
