Team Jaimasi

It was 10 days of humidity, bucket showers, eating bugs, and praying for lightening just so we could sleep inside.  I would not change my experience for anything though as I made amazing life long friends, experienced God in a whole new lighting, and I became more vulnerable than I have in years.

My first day I was filled with anxiety and doubt that I would basically drown in.  I’m not an “outdoorsy” person but I sure had to be really quickly. I’m a person who can’t stand rain but I learned to love it because the storms meant I got to sleep inside.  It wasn’t until the third day that I absolutely fell in love with the place and all that it had to offer.  I even learned to love not having my phone and being with the people around me.  Even with the 1,000 degree weather!

God was everywhere.  He was in the worship.  He was in the speakers who met with us.  He was with me every bit of the way. I’m so excited for the upcoming nine months of hard work, dance parties, airport layovers, bunk beds, and spreading the word of Jesus with all these amazing people!

I am a member of the small but mighty Z-Squad.  We went off of zero points and won the dance competition, maybe be not squad wars but we sure as heck showed off some hard work!
