As a senior everyone’s main thing on their minds is to figure out which college they will be going to. For me, it was different. It almost felt physically wrong for me. I went through the motions of doing it, but my heart wasn’t in it. I started exploring other things like cosmetology school. Then I heard about the World Race from my youth pastor’s wife. Honestly, I didn’t know much about it. But not long after, I found out that my best friend’s sister had gone on it, and then a mentor and good friend of mine shared that she had gone on a semester trip. Then, our pastor gave a sermon on mission opportunities that weekend. God confirmed over and over again in my heart that this was the direction for me. So this year I will be going to 3 different countries over the course of 9 months on the world race gap year to Costa Rica, Cambodia, and Swaziland.
