WE MADE IT!

This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for! The time has arrived! We made it through training camp and are sitting on the hard floor of the Atlanta airport waiting to check in our bags eager to take off on a new journey. It has taken weeks of preparation, a lot of prayers and time, but we are funded, packed, and ready to spread the good news among the nations. Matthew 28:18-20

Training camp has been such an amazing experience. Meeting my squad for the first time was pretty awkward. Now we are so close and each girl has their own amazing personality and qualities that combine to make up our amazing team. The first night, I didn’t sleep at all. I’ve never slept in a room with 80+ girls all shoved together. As for the bucket showers, they are actually more refreshing than I thought they would be. I even laughed and thought, “I never thought I would be standing in a tiny stall with a bucket and bees and wasps flying around my head. Thank you, God.” I won’t even begin to mention the bathroom situation. If you know, you know. If you don’t, well, you don’t want to. The food was so great. They served meals from different regions everyday. I got to eat plantains for the first time, eat with my hands, and use chopsticks. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much rice in my life. Each day of camp consisted of worship, team building activities, and sessions. The team activities activated our ability to work together and unify our group. The sessions were to help prepare us for life on the field and gave us insight to the Kingdom and the Holy Spirit. The worship helped prepare our hearts to go and minister. I didn’t expect to be as emotional as I have been, but God really does move. It was neat because racers would end up spontaneously sharing what the Holy Spirit set in their hearts. One girl shared that if you are broken, there is a place for you to be whole and that we are God’s treasure. That really resonated with me. My team and others put hands on me and embraced me. I’m so thankful for them and all their support. I cannot wait to see how the Lord uses this team to bring love to Costa Rica!
