*Coming to you from an Air New Zealand plane*
In around three hours my squad and I will be landing in Gold Coast, Australia! I’ve been waiting for this moment for almost nine months. However, before we boarded the plane prepared for landing, we had launch and a layover!
Launch held the sweetest reunions coupled with the hardest goodbyes. Seeing my squad again was like being wrapped in a warm, fuzzy blanket. However, final goodbyes for the next 11 months were hard. Our parents had their own version of launch for the first two days! It was great to meet the families of those who I now consider family as well. I was blessed to have my mama join me. It was so sweet to have her there to meet my squad and join in community with the other E Squad parents.
Launch was an incredible three days, in a way it felt like an extension of training camp. We learned more about culture, teaching, safety and logistics. The conversation surrounding spiritual warfare and giftings was deepened. All in preparation for life on the field. The last night of worship was a powerful experience. For the last time, all January 2020 squads were together worshiping, praying, and prophesying over each other.
The next morning was our first flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles. Our LA layover lasted 30 hours, allowing us some time to get out and enjoy the beach and city! Having this time as a squad before we split up into our teams was a gift.
Last night we boarded unto our Air New Zealand flight for 13 hours before we landed in Auckland, NZ. A quick two-hour layover in Auckland and I find myself on the final flight before reaching Australia! What a whirlwind this week has been, but I feel more prepared and excited than ever to see what God has in store for this next year!
Alright, well that was my quick little status update to let y’all know that I have officially STARTED the World Race!!!
