Hey guys!
My name is Cesia Diaz, and I am so excited to get to share this amazing journey with you guys through blogging! I want to thank you so much for taking the time to read this and get to know me better. I will be posting a little about myself, what the Lord has placed on my heart, and updates on my mission trip to Costa Rica.
So to start off, I am 21 years old and live in Denton, Texas. I am currently a senior at Texas Woman’s University, and will be graduating this upcoming May with a degree in Finance. I am very excited to see what the Lord has in store for this new season of life.
A big part of who I am is my family. My family is from El Salvador, so I grew up in a hispanic cultured home. My parents are so amazing. They love the Lord, and are my number one supporters. I have an older sister and younger brother, who make life so much fun. We are definitely a close knit family, and I am so thankful that they are walking through this season with me.
So, why a missions trip right after I graduate? Let me give you guys a little bit of background on my story. So I grew up in the church, and was an all-star church kid. I knew all the stories, answers, and memory verses. But my heart wasn’t there. That led me to live a double life. I would act like the perfect kid at church, but at school or other places, I was a completely different person. So I would try and fix myself after emotional highs for God, but would always end up back in the same old habits and sins.
College came, and that’s when I knew that I either had to make this Christian faith my own or I had to abandon it all together. So I started attending this Christian college organization called Overflow. Long story short, I gave my life to Christ one night at Overflow, and everything changed. The Gospel finally clicked. I realized I couldn’t fix myself, and I was in desperate need of saving. Jesus was the answer, and I no longer wanted to live a life in the flesh, but one that glorified God.
I was now a new person in Christ. I began getting discipled by an amazing older girl from our ministry, and slowly God began transforming my desires to align with His. That’s when God hit my heart with missions. Through Overflow, I was able to go on three mission trips to Panama City Beach, Florida. After these trips, I just knew that I loved serving others, and most of all getting to share Jesus with them. So I looked at my life and realized one thing, I want to serve Jesus and that’s it.
God has called us to go and makes disciples of all nations, and share the hope, love, forgiveness, and joy that we have in Christ. Jesus is better than anything the world has to offer, and there are people who haven’t heard. My hope is to be able to share Jesus through words, but also through service. I think that it’s hard for someone to accept what you tell them, if you don’t show them with your actions as well. So I want to love and serve people the way Jesus loved and served people.
After graduation, most people look for jobs, get married, or travel the world. But God has gripped my heart, and my desire is to use this season to bring Him glory. So I am going to go and run after God and His mission whole-heartedly. Please join me because I can’t do this alone. You can support me in a few different ways:
- Prayer: Please be praying for my team & I as we share the Gospel. That God may go before us and prepare hearts and minds of those receiving and those sharing. Please be praying for our hearts that we may remain humble and never forget that it is all for God’s glory. Lastly, pray for safety as we visit a foreign country.
- Financial Support: Just as stated before, I can’t do this on my own. If God places on your heart to support me financially, please click the donate button above. I know that God is faithful, and will make a way for the Gospel to reach Costa Rica.
- Subscribe to My Blog: I will be posting updates through this blog and will be sharing the amazing work of God! So join me on this journey, and let’s tell the world that Jesus is better.
“Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.” Philippians 3:8
Thank you for everything in advance. Please reach out if you have any questions/concerns/thoughts!
Love,
Cesia
