A lot of people have been asking how my team has spent the past 3 weeks. I havent done an update in a while so here I go.
We left Philadelphia in the beginning of May and headed to Duncannon, Pennsylvania. We stayed with a former world racer and her family. While we were there we did a lot of things in the community. Our first day there we were asked to make party decorations for a survivor themed birthday party. Being a huge fan of survivor I took charge of the decorations. It was really cool seeing what the team was able to come up with. While we were there there were a couple of fires in buildings. Our host had connections with the red cross and we were able to go help a lady move out of her apartment where a fire had just been put out. One day we went evangelizing and met a lady that I will call “D”. She told us how she has tried several times to have a relationship with God but could never find the motivation to keep it up. On top of that her son was dealing with some serious health issues. We were able to pray for her and her family. We also were able to leave her with some encouraging words. Also while we were there our host bought me a birthday cake and celebrated with us. We only spent 10 days there but I’ve made friendships there that will last a life time.
After Duncannon we moved onto North Lawerence, Ohio. Originally we were supposed to be camping in Maine but our campsite ended up closing due to the Corona virus. Since we were originally supposed to have 2 weeks to ourselves we decided to get an airbnb and spend the time focusing on the team and ourselves. With all we have going on things like spending time together, writing blogs and focusing on ourselves goes out the window. While we were there we were able to do a couple of outreaches. A world race alumni who lived in the area was able to meet up with us. It was really nice getting to pour into her. She came with us on our first outreach when we went evangelizing. When we went evangelizing we split into groups, I went with Jacob and Andrew. We ended up walking through this park. At the other end of it we saw a pavilion with 5 people in there early 20s sitting down. All three of us felt led to go talk to them. We started talking to one of them who I will call “D”. He told us how he was a born again Christian. Jacob and I were talking to “D” while Andrew talked to his friends. They were telling Andrew how “D” never stops talking. Right before that though he was telling Jacob and I that he had attempted suicide multiple times. He told us how he no longer had feeling in his left hand because he almost sawed it completely off. Jacob jumped in and asked if he could pray for healing over it. After he prayed “D” was completely silent. The guy who’s friends said never stopped talking was speechless. He was healed and his friends were completely shocked. This encounter is one I will never forget.
Also while we were in North Lawerence, the world race alumnus we met invited us to the school she teaches at end of the year parade. We went and brought bubbles. It was a lot of fun. All the kids that drove by were so excited to see there teachers again. It was fun getting to cheer them on. We spent two weeks in North Lawerence. It was a much needed 2 weeks.
We are now in a town just outside Columbus, Ohio. We will be here until the 17th before moving on. Again I want to thank all who have donated. Without you I never would’ve been able to have this amazing experience.
