I’m sure you all have a lot of questions about what is happening with my mission trip going on in the middle of the Corona Virus. It’s time I sit down and answer those questions.
1. Are you going to be pulled off of the field? -The short answer is no. But honestly it’s not as simple as that. The likely hood of us getting pulled off of the field is slim. While things are definitely changing around us, Adventures in Missions feels like it’s safe enough to keep us on the field. If they do decide to pull us off of the field they would send us back out after things have calmed down.
2. What precautions are you taking while on the field? – Every time we go outside we wear masks and gloves. We try our hardest to keep distance between us and others. We also limit how much we go outside. Most of the ministry we’ve been doing is inside the building were staying in.
3. What have you been doing while in quarantine? -We have been doing various things. There is one thing in particular that we do weekly. Once a week a truck full of food donations comes. With gloves and masks on we sort out the food and box it up to give to people in the community. We’ve also done a lot of street clean up as well as cleaning of the building were staying in. We also wrote inspirational notes and sent them to Police Officers, Firefighters, and hospital personnel for all that they have done.
4.How has this changed where you will be going? -Unfortunately a couple of our ministry hosts have had to cancel due to restrictions in there state that were set due to the corona virus. Which is why we have been in Philadelphia the past 2 months. We are moving forward but with caution. Were making sure that there’s not more than 10 people where were staying.
5. What happens if one of the ministry hosts cancel? -If a ministry host cancels we find a new place to stay. Whether it’s in another city. or staying with the host were already with a little longer.
6. Even if Adventures in Missions doesn’t end your route why don’t you return home? – I will not return home unless Adventures in Missions says I have to. I know this is where God wants and needs me right now. Part of me wanted to go home but I know at home I won’t be doing anything to help. Here I am able to help so many people. I will not return home unless I have to.
Hope that answers all of your questions. If you have anymore leave them in the comments below. Also I know a lot of people have been wanting to donate but weren’t sure if it would be worth it with everything going on. Like I said above even if we get pulled from the field they would eventually send us back out. Even then I highly doubt we are going to be pulled. Thank you to all who have already donated.
