This week we have been in Memphis Tennessee for our first debrief. For those who don’t know what debrief is, it is a time where we meet up with our squad mentor and coaches for teachings and relaxation.

I learned a lot in the teachings. The thing I remember the most is humility. We had a whole teaching on how pride is not always a good thing and how you should be humble. It was interesting to see it from another person’s perspective.

Besides teachings we have also had the chance to explore the area. On our way to Tennessee we got to go to Elvis’ birth place in Mississippi. That was cool to see how he grew up and where he grew up. As many of you know I love history and love going to sights that symbolize the cities history. In a way we were following Elvis’ footsteps by traveling from Mississippi to Memphis.

The original plan was for us to go walk down Beale street on Thursday. The only issue is that it was freezing outside. So we rescheduled to go explore the city on Saturday. Later that night it snowed. I haven’t seen snow in many years. It was really nice. On Saturday we went out to explore. We got to walk up and down Beale street and listen to some amazing music. There were so many murals that we got to take pictures in front of. We also got to dip our feet in the Mississippi river. It was a fun day full of food, and laughs. This week has been crazy but it’s been a lot of fun.
