Hey guys !
Today,
I have an amazing and fun story to tell you about how fun God can be.
He truly has a sense of humor.
I’m excited to share with you this story so I’m gonna jump right in it (:
Sooo,
Friday the 20th of September I had a early morning eye appointment here in Northfield at Dr. Richies, a local eye clinic.
I ended up getting my eyes checked and dilated, it reminded me of when I was younger and drank “the punch” if you know what I mean..
I am getting my new pair of glasses this coming Friday the 27th, so I’ll be rockin a new look.
Anyways, I met a friend for coffee and somehow we got stirred to talk to some people about Jesus.
We prayed for some people and the Holy Spirit moved mightily.
We saw that there was a protest on (Climate Change) here downtown at Bridge Square.
There had to of been 200 to 300 people gathered around so close together. Everyone was shoulder to shoulder listening to people speak through a megaphone.
People had signs and were chanting about wanting to make a difference.
As all of this was going down I decided to press into the Lord. I asked Holy Spirit,
”What do you see?”
”what do you wanna do?”
As I pressed in, I sat back and observed the people.
The commotion.
The words and the heart of people there.
My friend Chelsea had said to me;
”Its almost like we’ve come in on a big wave“
—And it was true. They were protesting. They had a system and things to get done.. everybody there was there for one thing;
To protest about climate change..
But not me, I just felt something different
I knew God wanted to do something I just didn’t know what.
And how. or when..
So I waited….
5 minutes…
Then, 10…..
I just kept praying.
Asking the Lord what to do …
then 15 minutes go by.
Chelsea then even comes over to me and says she has to go.
She leaves.
Well, I wait.
20 minutes Go by and I don’t hear anything from the Lord or see any openings.
So I take my bike and go home….
Heres where it gets fun (:
On my way home i just talk with the Lord and tell Him I know that there was something he wanted to do and was confused about not hearing what it was. .
Then i hear clearly
“Go back”
& I’m like what? Are you…..
Once again,
“Go back“..
So I turn right around and bike back to bridge Square.
I stand with the crowd listening to the speakers.
then a student gets up and tells the audience that it’s time for;
”Open Mic”.
That, Anyone can come up and speak.
& i think to my self.
“Wow. God you are funny!“
Two people go up and speak before I get boldness from God to make my way through the crowd to the table they’re speaking on.
So I ask the student.
“So, anyone can go up there ??”
& she responds “Yup”
So, i grab the megaphone (not knowing what to say) and stand up on that table…
& I open my mouth and words come out.
Boldness comes out.
Encouragement comes out and I was given the chance to lead all these people In a simple prayer.
Just wait. It gets even better (:
About 5 minutes being up there feeling like an hour I step down.
I grab my bike and go.. it was thrilling and so exciting and I thanked God for His boldness on the way home.
Felt like a giddy child
& Heres where it get better…
Tonight at church,
(2 days later)
As we meet every Sunday night to fellowship and worship together, share testimony and eat a meal together.
There was a couple who were new to the group.
Sarah & Dave.
New to town even,
After sharing this same story/testimony of Gods boldness,
Sarah shares that she was in that audience..
She wasn’t too interested in the climate change movement but she was there with friends..
Her and some friends are Christians that love Jesus.
This issue with the climate change she knew that we as humans can only do so much. That protesting would only go so far,
Her faith was in God about this..
So she prayed.
She shared that while in the audience,
(Before I biked back, while others were speaking)
she was praying that God would send someone…
She had been praying while I was on my bike biking home ..
And then that’s when I heard God say
“Go back“…
isn’t that amazing!
God is so fun! God is working through the hearts and prayers of His people,
Now, i can gladly say I have new friends Sarah and Dave who love Jesus and want to work on building connections in our community and building the kingdom of God!
See, now God is only looking for those who are willing to say yes to Him.
In all things and at all times in all places.
Be open to His Spirit and press in and wait.
God is so fun and amazing !!
God bless you guys (:
talk to you soon
