Why Missions?…

I believe the Lord is calling me to missions for many reasons!

Well, He is calling all of us to missions.

Whether that’s in your backyard, at your work, school, with family and friends, He beckons His creation before Him, to come to Him.

I’ve been on many mission trips and as I continue to walk with the Lord I see that He has opened this path specifically for me regarding the mission field.

Now,

is that full time? or

part time? I have NO idea.

What I do know though, is that we walk by faith

An encouraging scripture each time I read it, reminds me of the importance of the call to missions.

Its written by Paul in His epistle to the Romans.

Romans 8:19-21

For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.”

The world is actually (WAITING) for the revelation of the Sons of God.

The people who will step into what God has called them to do and to be not for themselves, but on behalf of His people.

I think if we take a step back, even right now as you’re reading this, take just a quick moment to search within yourself that desire to want to make a difference.

Its there.

There is something in you, in all of us, that wants to make a difference.

Whether that’s in our own lives, in the lives of those around us, that pull to want to make a difference is from God.

He put that in there for a reason.

And if we are to be humble, yield to Him, and allow Him to make the difference in us, so that, it would go from a desire to action, then we would see that God is far greater capable in making that difference in and through us.

& Not only that!

But, we would know and actually have an idea on what it is He wants to do.

We know God wants His people to repent, believe, and follow

But, how is this possible if there are those who have heard the gospel and are not sharing it? ….

I encourage you, whoever is reading this, live a life of missions.

A lifestyle spreading the love of Jesus, Preaching, Teaching, Guiding and Raising people to do the same so we can make that difference.

We can do this effortlessly by allowing Holy Spirit to rule our lives.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

We have His Spirit, His word, and Salvation.

Therefore, we are equipped and qualified.

He tells us in His word;

1 Peter 5:6

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time

What this speaks to me, as I’ve spoken to the Lord specifically regarding this scripture, that the purpose of being “Exalted in due time” is as we are lifted up by Him, His name is lifted up even higher.

His name is above all names and always will be.

But, unfortunately, we as sinful people want to receive some exultation for ourselves, want to receive attention, praise and adoration for ourselves.

But, that’s not what we do!

We give praise to God always, regardless of our position, regardless of our influence, it doesn’t matter.

He matters. His work matters.

He gets the Glory, and He’s well deserving of it.

The purpose of missions in my opinion is to reach those with the Gospel by walking in and with the Power/Love of Jesus by His Spirit!!

His death has brought us life so let us share this truth.

The Gospel (And the Gospel alone) is truly the power unto salvation.

People need to hear the good news!!

Later, I will be posting a blog on my mission trip to Cuba.

In Cuba, I felt like that’s where the Lord affirmed the call to the mission field.

Thank you so much for reading !! God Bless you 🙂
