Hey everyone!! This is my first blog post, and its been a little while since I have posted on here, but I am so thrilled that you’ve taken the time to come and read my Blog and learn more about my journey!
So, lately I have been in a valley season, and honestly that’s never something I am proud to talk about. It can seem like I am unworthy or too weak to share my experience because when we are in the valley-we like to stay and camp out there. But, the valley isn’t necessarily a bad thing or mean I have failed God terribly, but it is a season where God is trying to show me something about myself and bring me back to His Son,Jesus, and what He did for me on the Cross.
The reason God allows us to go through hard seasons of waiting is so that our eyes and faith will turn to Christ when we are overwhelmed or overcome. You must be honest with yourself and say that, “I can’t do this”. Because honestly we can’t overcome our trials in and of ourselves. Jesus wants us to take the yoke off of us, and take upon His yoke which is easy and light. By laying our problems, impatience, weaknesses, trials, doubts, etc… at the feet of Jesus, we can have peace and victory in the midst of the valley!
In James 1:2-4 it states,”Count it all joy my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let the steadfastness have its full effect that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” We can have joy when things come are way because God is wanting to teach and grow us in that time. It also says “when you” so its not “if you” but it is for sure going to happen. Christians aren’t going to have this perfect life, but we go through so much because it is forming us into the character of Christ.
My heart right now is that I pray to have strength and trust that god knows what he is doing, always and at all times. Walk in Victory during the hard times because Gpd is preparing you for something so great. I am so thankful for this journey to go to Africa because everything i’m learning now is helping me become the person I need to be on the mission trip! God has a plan and all he asks is for me to put all my burned upon him.
