“I feel like today is truly the first day of my World Race journey.”
Hey guys!
It’s official, I have committed to The World Race! Although I technically accepted the opportunity several months ago, I have not been fully public with it until now. It has been on my heart to pursue this trip since April 2018, but I am happy to say that this adventure has finally become a reality. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve God, experience other cultures, evangelize to lost souls, and grow in my personal faith. Here goes nothing because I am diving in head first!
In early January, I will be embarking on a once in a lifetime experience of service, fellowship, and spiritual development. During the 11-month trip, I will be spreading the gospel and helping alleviate crises in the following nations: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, India, South Africa, Eswatini, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. My team will be assigned a host in each country, typically a missionary family, church, or non-profit organization, where we will live, learn, and love on locals. Our ministries in each community will look a bit different, but the type of work we will be doing is teaching pre-school, organizing Vacation Bible Schools, assisting in hospitals, connecting with refugees, praying for the sick, and rehabilitating former sex trafficking victims. The humanitarian work in each region will vary, but the mission will all be centered around Christ. If you’d like to read more about my squad’s route, you are more than welcome to here.
Although the actual trip begins in January, my true efforts start today. This trip isn’t free and I am looking for supporters to pray for me, spread awareness, and/or financially support me if willing and able. It would be an honor to have you join me in my ministry as I follow the Great Commission. If you are interested in learning more, I would be happy to call you or meet with you. Please comment on this post with your email or message me on social media if you would like to know how you can get more involved. If you ever feel capable and led to donate, my fundraising link can be found here.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me and encouraged me thus far. Now that my plans have been publicly revealed, I feel like today is truly the first day of my World Race journey. Thank you for reading this and learning more about my next year and a half. I will be posting to this blog regularly leading up to the race and out on the field, so please subscribe if you would like to stay consistently updated. I immensely appreciate your consideration and support!
Gratefully,
Austin
