Hello! My name is Ashleigh, as I am sure you have guessed, and I am currently living in Juneau, AK. I am 20 years old and some interesting facts about me to start you off with are my favorite animal is a squirrel, I once flipped a four wheeler on top of myself while continuing to laugh the whole time, and I have been in the hospital once every year since I was in kindergarten for various reasons/injuries (i.e. broken leg in 2nd grade and almost cutting my finger off at school in 7th grade are the first to come to mind). I was born in Juneau, AK, USA and when I was 2 years old my family moved down to Morton, WA. Unless you have an affinity for a super small town, logging, and really good Mexican food you’ve probably never been there or even knew that it existed. It was what I called home up until we moved back to Juneau, AK right before I started 5th grade and have been back ever since.

Another fun fact about me is I am going on a mission trip! God has been calling me to be closer to Him and to grow more in His power and love so what better way to learn to trust God than to go to a foreign country for the first time with people who are in the same position you are in and only a backpack with the essentials? Even though I did not grow up as a Christian, I see how every single moment of my life was leading up to me getting saved. Every happy moment and every really difficult experience was a lesson from God and I had to stumble for just over 19 years before I finally realized that I do not have the strength to do life on my own. Everything God has been teaching me about myself and Him has been a difficult, yet worthy process that I am so blessed to be going on. It hasn’t been easy and I don’t think it gets any easier, but I know that He loves me. I am ready to share that unconditional love with the people that I am going to meet before, during, and after my mission trip to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama this upcoming fall.
