Leaving Ecuador and driving into Peru

Hey! So it’s been a while ( or a hot minute as we say here on my squad) since I last blogged about Miss South America herself and what I’m doing!

So I was at Dunamis since the last time I blogged! We were to be there 6 or so days, we ended being there 14 ish DAYS!!!  We dug five feet deep holes and mixed concrete! We also bent metal with more metal. Well that’s all we did manual labor wise. But on the spiritual side of things we did a LOT  of PRAYING OVER QUITO AND PRAYING FOR THE RIOTS TO END in His timing and will! And one night we were praying and it was put on a squad mates heart to pray for the squad to quit our complaining and that maybe the reason for being stuck on the mountains is the same reason Moses and the Israelites were in the desert for forty years instead of the short time they were to have! We quickly slowed our complaining down and became more greatly! And another one of my Megan she was one I saw really influence becoming more grateful! The day after what was the end of our debrief, it was a last minute “ hey you’re doing work today. You have 10 minutes to get work clothes on and outside and ready to work!” as you can imagine not too many were thrilled with either working or if they didn’t mind helping work they didn’t like the last minute notice. Anyway so while we were carrying concrete brick to a pile on the hill, each time I passed Megan all I heard was not coming but she would say” I am grateful for…” and she kept saying this. And listing what she was grateful for the whole day! and it was encouraging for me to hear gratefulness And it made me more grateful even though I didn’t want to do anything!oh yeah and we had days off for our debrief weekend!

We ended up leaving like 4 days later!

We had 3 days in Banos, like we were supposed to for debrief! We went to the swing at the end of the world! We did steet evangelism! It was awesome! So what we did was Kelly, one of the leaders pulled names and pair is by two! I was fortunate enough to have been paired up with a Spanish speaker, Destiny!!! She and I were like, we don’t know what were to do. So we started walking to the left of our hostal, which is where we were staying. And so we started kind of like doing a prayer walk and we prayed over places we saw as we walked by. But there was a candy place and we were super intrigued when we walked in and realized that the music that was playing was Christian music but in Spanish! So destiny asked if the place was a Christian one and the owner said yes! So we were like that’s cool, and I felt like we should pray with the owners for their business and the influence they have! I told Destiny and she asked them and the owners were super happy for us to pray with and for them! So after we prayed the owner introduced himself to us and introduced his family! And we told home we were missionaries with World Race! And we were then invited for hot chocolate and so we stayed and I could pick up some things to was said, and destiny did translate for me!he just was so happy to have missionaries come and pray for him and his family!

Then just as we were about to leave he gave us a bag full of candy FOR FREE  for our whole squad!! Such a blessing and it was so sweet!!

Then we did a squad scavenger hunt with tasks to downs you had to video or take a picture of you doing the task  and my team and another team tied so we had to do an almost impossible task, and that was to get a picture a at least on person on your team to dab (which is the motion of covering your mouth with your elbow and lifting the other arm out diagonally) and you had to have an official like police officer or security guard, also dabbing so in the picture. and whichever team got back to the hostal first and the picture was approved , then won the whole scavenger hunt! My team came in second! The prize was getting dessert bought for you by the leaders that night, right before we left for the bus for Guayaquil!

We were at  Guayaquil terminal to we got on our 27-28 hour bus ride to Lima Peru!

We got here where we are staying Sunday night at 7. We went to the atm and went out for dinner! Then Monday we have off days! And Tuesday we started ministry at the first church: Iglesia cristiana ( Christian church in Spanish). We have done skits in the crosswalk multiple times, and we have cleaned the streets, done skits in front of the university , in the park, and in front of the children’s hospital! When we’re not doing skits we are handing out flyers advertising the church! We had a prayer service and only one Peruvian who wasn’t helping produce the night was there! We did a kids service it was so nice!! There were different skits and two dances were performed and I keep practicing the one I’m trying to get it done but it’s super hard!! It felt like an ignite conference to me, we also had worship and all these things were at the ignite conference!!  And I finally was able to attend a church service today for the first one in this whole trip!! It was nice to worship at a church again!!!
