Blog 3 Ecuador

Where do I start?? Well the beginning is always a good place!! So umm Anna, Emma Juliet and I urbered to the top of a volcano ! The view was amazing!! And beautiful!! It was super windy and cold but THE VIEW!!! It was awesome.. then we rode boxed ski lifts down the bottom and explored a carnival where we got cotton candy and I watched Anna and EJ ride the catapult… the catapult was a slingshot for two basically. They are some brave souls!!!!!!!! Anyway, yesterday was the last day at pan de vida ??it was so nice to serve along side those at pan de vida and seeing the smiles on al the beneficiaries faces when they walked in and received the food!! The kids were always happy and couldn’t wait to play with us volunteers!!! I loved seeing the kids faces light up just from playing peek a boo or just chasing them !!!!!! Jeff was our go to guy at pan de vida!! He was so great and energetic!! Poor Jeff was always running(literally) from one thing to the next back to something else on the nights they have programs!! At pan de vida I had the pleasure of serving along side two groups from the USA!! The first group was from Illinois Iowa and Missouri!! We helped them help a family build on to their house!! My muscles aches after the three days but it was worth it when I saw the progress made from day one to the third day.. we were almost done and I almost asked Jeff if we could go the  next day to help finish the wall and roof!! I didn’t but it would have been so cool to be apart of the final touches!!

We had a self live week and all the mirrors were covered. And not everyone had to participate in the not looming at your self in the mirror … but it was encouraged! I didn’t participate??and one thing I learned is something I already knew in my head but don’t always know or feel in my heart….. but I learned I am loved by God I am worthy of God love and I will never be left alone by God… during this week we served our host and the interns by serving them dinner restaurant style is so cool and amazing and awesome to see just how much it touched them to be served and pampered. Their night started out by being welcomed by me … the hostess and asked to sit while their table was being prepared ( unknown to them it was already set up and I was in the kitchen getting the menus hand made by Jules and Emma tweed) then they I walked them to their table where the name places were also hand made and they were given their menu. The entree was burrito bowl and they could chose what they wanted in the bowl. Then dessert was popcorn with chocolate or peanut butter or both… and during dessert they got a graditude speech and a song sung by all of us!! And since our host have a baby two people from our group babysat while the host couple ate!! It was a successful night and we all matched and looked so professional.. I loved it and I think it was a great example of self love and how Jesus served!! Then later that night for squad time Emily and Kelly ( our leaders ) washed our feet like Jesus washed the disciples feet. It was a great end to a great week!!
