Ecuador
HEYY!! So first blog on the field!! It is still so surreal being here!!!
Let me start by taking about training camp!!
Aug. 28
Mom and dad and I drove from our house to BWI and flew from BWI to ATL GA! Then I got my suitcase ate auntie anns and met some of the girls from my group! Shout out to CHLOE AND MAYA AND ALEX AND MEGAN AND ABBY!!!!
We then met the rest of the group who flew in and those from other trips at the van waiting place! The van was a little later than expected and so we didn’t get to training camp as soon as we would have liked! But that’s okay that gave us more time to get to know each other and the other groups !!
August 29-31
Not to much happened ….. EXCEPT…….A DANCE OFF!!!!
This happened on aug. 30 and team 2 from Ecuador and Peru won.. aka MY GROUP!!!!!!!
Our plane from Fort Lauderdale left right before hurricane Dorian hit FL! The flight from FL to
- Ecuador was long.. but it went fast watching a movie and some episodes of shows to pass the time. We landed and went through customs and by the time we got to our hosts home it was 130 am.. Ecuadorian time.. and by the time we got to the rooms went over when breakfast would and such it was like 2 am and we. Finally went to sleep!! How great sleeping felt!! Especially after being up at 545am on Sunday so we could get ready to leave and finish last minute chores by 7 to leave for the ram iairport!!!!
- So far we have painted the girls bathroom, spacalling the wall outside the house reused bottle and made them into a watering tube for the plants, and today we went and worked with pan o vida food pantry
- Each week we get Friday and Saturday off but one of them had to be a sabbath since we work on Sunday
- The people who cook for us are so nice!! The people who cook for us are Hanna her brother Matthew and their friend Allie. And last night we had taco salad and it’s my favorite meal so far!!!
- Fabi and Mabe are our hosts and they have an adorable baby.. they are so nice and they are funny and loving!!
- Yesterday we went to super maxi market and had a blast!!
- Today we went to pan de vita which is a food pantry an we helped clean and other great stuff!!
