The first few days were very relaxing, mainly spent laying out in the sun and drinking coconut water( recovering from the jet lag). The first night we spent there I didn’t have a bug net so I remember suffocating myself in a sleeping bag with a hair tie so I wouldn’t get bugs on me in my sleep. IT WAS HOT. The next day I got set up with a bug net and things were much better! I first ate everything they put in front of me but then I kinda started to see the animals on The side of the road eating trash and I started to struggle with eating. I eat a lot of rice! After 3 days we started doin ministry by doing house visits. we have gotten to know the community and town and pray over so many amazing families. I was offered a puppy and I simply couldn’t refuse! I am not aloud to keep in sadly but my English student Hoy brings lucky( the puppy) to school everyday so I can see him. It’s been incredible but dont let all this fool you. Its been very hard for me to change my normal American lifestyle. Dont get me wrong I am very thankful for everything that our host has provided, but theres a few things I have to get used to. For one thing is the large amount of spiders in the bathrooms and bedrooms( completely harmless). Another thing is the shower it’s great that we have a shower head to use and I couldn’t be more grateful for that, but I constantly have to keep my eyes open thinking a spider will land on me at any second. Moving on to the water.. we have filtered water but I normally drink from water bottles,  brought a life straw and thank goodness because now I can drink the sink water worry free! One fun little story is one night I went to go fill my bottle up and a rat fell from the ceiling, few seconds later another one! Still learning how to be ok with it knowing this is how most of the world lives. Right now I am in a Coffee shop and it’s great to get a “Starbucks“ fix once a week! Tomorrow we are going to rabbit island for the day and I probably won’t swim but I will definitely make some tiktoks! Some of my students know what tiktok is and love to make them with me! DREAM COME TRUE! I made this amazing friend Mary Lynn and she is a gem! one of my fellow racers Mary, ( not Mary lynn) work with Mary lynn for school and it’s so much fun! She even washed our hair outside which was actually so much fun! I’ll make some small blogs after this to talk about what a day to day life is like here. I am about to leave and go shopping at the market for some clothes and I’m so excited!

I also bought a big bag of salt today and it’s AMAZING.

ok thats all for now 🙂
