How has God been good to you recently? I can guarantee that he did something good for you today, even if it was the worst day of your life. You probably had food to eat, maybe got to hang out with friends, or had the time to go for a run (or even all three). Whether you feel like life could never get better or that it couldn’t possibly get worse, God is with you and helping you to grow in so many ways. Within the past month, God has been extremely good to me. First, I spent two whole weeks in Utah (!!!) and second, I got fully funded!
Over the past few months, I have been in a season of trust. Looking back on my life, I have come to realize that trusting God was something that I have always struggled with. I never understood how to do this, and it was hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea of giving up my fears to him. (Like how does this work??) While going to Utah was a blessing, being off-the-grid and not fundraising during this time was super stressful. It wasn’t until after I got back that I realized how easy it truly is to trust. When I left for Utah, I had raised $1750 and when I got back, I had less than $600 left to raise. Not only did God give me the opportunity to explore Utah and make new friends, I had the chance to fully trust him without even realizing it. Not once on the trip did I worry about raising the money because I knew that the Lord would provide. There’s not a simple formula that you can follow to trust in him, rather you simply do so by doing… and lots of prayer.
Being fully funded and realizing that I got to go to Ecuador was indescribable. When I flew out to Atlanta last week for training camp, I felt like I would never make it to Ecuador. While training camp seemed to last three years (it was only three days), I learned so much about myself. Through many sessions, I was able to learn and understand more about my identity and why I am who I am. I also learned a lot about the Holy Spirit and the Kingdom of God. It’s been really cool to see how God puts you in situations to learn things that you don’t even realize you need to learn. As I take on Ecuador, I’m excited to both serve the Lord and the Kingdom, while also discovering more about myself and God.
I just want to say thank you to everyone who donated for helping me get to this place! I also want to say thank you for all the prayers and general support in this adventure. I am unbelievably grateful for all that you have done, and I can’t wait to share my experiences with all of you!
