The World Race isn’t around the corner for me anymore, in fact, it is now just up the street. I will be leaving Ohio on October 3rd heading to Atlanta for prelaunch preparations and launching from Atlanta on October 6th to begin my race. I am caught in a whirlpool of emotions. I still can’t believe it is happening; I am excited, nervous, overwhelmed, and ready. I wouldn’t be human if I didn’t admit that is how I feel right now.
The preparation process is not complete. I am still working to align my finishing touches before I head out. While I say I am trying, some of them are truly out of my hands, so I am waiting on God to make provisions for me to be able to accomplish all of the tasks that are at hand momentarily.
You have the power and ability to help aid the progression of these tasks if you so find it in your heart to do so.
The most profound task at hand at the moment is my fundraising for the mission. The deadline for my second goal is at the end of September. I have already raised $540 towards that goal, but that leaves me with $4,460 to go until I have achieved this goal. So, in order to aid the process, I have a variety of four fundraisers to help you get involved with this mission to help me and the rest of the world.
Here are the four fundraisers including descriptions of each:
1. $20 T-shirts: I will be running this fundraiser for four months. I have four T-shirt options, so for each month I will offer a new shirt. For the month of September this is the available shirt: HE is greater than i (on the front) … To the ends of the Earth (Acts 1:8) (on the back).
For the T-shirts, I will collect orders all month starting now, the money can be given to me or sent via mail, Cash App ($AlyciaMathis), or Venmo (@Alycia-Mathis). I can only place an order of 12 or more shirts, so to make it simple I will place the order at the end of each month. Thank you for your patience and support!
2. Keys for the Journey:
This fundraiser will only be available for the month of September, you can place orders for this fundraiser directly on their website. Their website is www.keysforthejourney.com. IMPORTANT: when you check out and it asks you “Who would you like to support”, you must choose my name: Alycia Mathis. The keys are being sold for $30.

On their website, you are able to choose from four key shapes, two types of necklaces (a beaded chain or leather rope). Then it gets better, you can either chose the word you would like your key to say or you can let the owner and his staff pray for a word from God.
The keys for the journey are to be reminders of a place you are trying to reach or something that you hold on to, to keep you strong. The ideal of it is to wear this key until you have reached that place and have found someone else that now needs that key to unlock their future. All of that in God’s timing though. This company is actually a ministry that helps the causes of other ministries. There are a bunch of amazing testimonies behind these keys. 3. Homemade Baked Goods Sale:
My grandmother (I call her Nanny) is going to contribute to this fundraiser by making Oatmeal Raisin (w/ or w/o walnuts) and Chocolate chip cookies, Brownies (w/ or w/o walnuts), Blueberry and Banana Nut Muffins all from scratch made to order. The cookies will come in a baker’s dozen (13). The brownies and muffins will come in half a baker’s dozen (7). Each order is $20, Shipping out of state will be $5 extra, but also well worth it.
