Many people ask me how I feel about this mission and the truth is I am very excited and I am also kind of nervous. This is so big and there are so many things that are unknown to me but that is where my faith kicks in, so today I want to focus on one thing that I am excited about. I am always asked which country I am most excited for and I would have to say Thailand.

If I am being honest my first thought or perception of Thailand was in 2009 when the movie The Hangover came out. There were two major things that stuck out to me about it, which were the natural beauty and the spiritual darkness.  They both drew me and ever since then I’ve wanted to go there. I am so excited that I now have the opportunity to fulfill that dream of mine that sprouted ten years ago.

I have done a little research about Thailand and found that the name of their country in their language means “the land of the free”, that’s what we say here in the United States, but I am not sure that they live up to it. Then again I don’t know any nation that does. Ours may be one of the closest though in a few ways, but this is also just worldly freedoms we are talking about.

Thailand is considered “the land of the free” because they were never colonized by European countries. They also say that they have religious freedom there, but their law states that their king must be Buddhist and there was a law that required all males to be Buddhist monks before the age of 20. It is not observed the way it used to be, but to me, that doesn’t sound like religious freedom. I am sure these laws play a part in the reasoning behind the fact that 95% of their population identifies as Buddhist. They also have over 35,000 temples there. Their religion doesn’t focus on Jesus Christ, but it does focus on peace and harmony which I can appreciate. However, there is only one way to Heaven and that’s is through the Son; Jesus Christ. So, I am excited to share revelation and truth with them when given the opportunity and I am excited to experience the peace and harmony they are said to so freely give.

I am a lover of nature, so this is one of the things that really draws me to want to experience this country God has created. They have so many beautiful scenes to offer there. There are just over 1,400 islands in Thailand, with beautiful beaches and landscapes. The northern half of Thailand used to be all forest and jungle. They still have a lot, but not as much as it used to be because of how our world is evolving.

Thailand is one of the largest exporters of Orchids because they have 1,500 different species of Orchids that grow in the wild. Although there aren’t nearly as many as there used to be a century ago, they have over 5,000 elephants there and over half of them are domesticated. Could you imagine having an elephant in your backyard as a pet? Wow!

Their wildlife is amazing, they have both the smallest and the largest creatures in the world; the Bumblebee bat and the Whale shark. That’s not all either, they have more species of birds than Europe and America combined, the worlds largest snake (the reticulated python), and the longest poisonous snake (the king cobra). Siamese cats are even from there and represent good luck to them. These things may not seem cool to you, but I value all of the things God created and to me it is beautiful. I love having the opportunity to see more than my day to day reality permits.

There is so much to be explored In Thailand and I can’t wait until I reach that country to see it for myself. Thailand is closer to the end of our route, so it is something I will continually be looking forward to. I will be sharing my experiences about each country as I travel each one, so don’t forget to subscribe and follow along.

None of this would be possible if I hadn’t answered the call on my life and furthermore if I didn’t have all of your support. So, I just want to thank you for all you have done to support me in any way you have!

I am closing in on my first goal of $5,000 and the deadline is tomorrow, however, I am slightly over $900 short. So, I do still need some help and definitely more prayers that God will provide. Any amount that you feel in your heart to give from a $1 or more will go further than you could ever imagine. Thank you in advance for your help and feel free to share this post as a way of supporting me!! Be blessed everyone <3
