Hello Everyone,
This post might be confusing to some of you, I still am trying to understand all that happened at training camp myself! However, I pray you read this with an open heart and learn something. I have been a Christian most of my life, however at training camp I felt a whole new meaning of what it means to have a relationship with Jesus. I learned a lot about things that I have not really heard in the church while growing up. I witnessed a lot of amazing things and weird things while at training camp. I was very skeptical at times to be honest with you, but God blew my skepticism out of the water the entire time! I learned what it truly looks like to live your life for Holy Spirit and follow him boldly everyday. I really want to grow in that boldness over the course of the next year! I want people to be able to tell that my relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in my life and that I need him for everything.
I want to be bold so that when Holy Spirit points out someone that needs prayers or just someone to talk to; I stop what I am doing and listen to Holy Spirit instead of doing what is comfortable to me. I want to be bold and faithful when it comes to healing people I may or may not know! Jesus has promised us that we will do greater works than he did on his time on Earth. If that does not make you excited and kinda freaked out, not really sure what else would! My prayer for this race, and I encourage you to join me in this prayer is that I will walk boldly with Holy Spirit, grow my relationship with Jesus, and just really show love to everyone I meet! I really hope you were able to take something away from this blog and if you have questions feel free to put them in the comments!
Now for the more chill and laid back things we did at training camp! I got to eat crickets (video below) for the first time, they tasted like a sunflower seed with the shell on! You are welcome now you do not have to try one haha. I had an amazing birthday on the 15th! I got to hang out with some ladies in an assisted living facility with my team. We got to play bingo and worship with them, it was awesome seeing them dancing and singing for God! We got to do a mock India market. It was super loud, busy, and really hard to communicate to buy food. We also had squad wars on the last day, my squad was awesome! We came in second place right behind A Squad, they might have won squad wars but we are definitely still the cooler squad! We pretty much slept outside everyday and had to pack and unpack out tents mostly everyday. I personally slept in a hammock like 80% of the time and I have no regrets. The men got to do a 12 mile hike on part of the Appalachian trail; I did the whole hike in Crocs because I forgot my hiking boots at camp. Somehow I did not get any blisters and my feet were not even sore, God was definitely looking out for me that hike!
I want to thank everyone that has joined me in this journey, and if you have not yet I encourage you to think about hoping aboard the train! I promise you will not regret it! If you feel led to donate you can click here, also prayers are very much appreciated! We are actually doing the thing and I leave in about 6 weeks to Peru!
Much Love,
Zach
