Jesus has called me on an adventure; where He leads, I will go. Why? Because my Savior, the Lord of my life, the King of my Heart—Jesus—has loved me with a love that never fails, gives up, grows tired, fades, or vanishes. The love He has for His children is pure and good, it is unlike anything we can imagine or fathom.
It is this very love that Christ first showed me that leads me out of the comforts of my familiar home in exchange for a faraway country full of strangers with untold stories and unacknowleged hardships. While signing up for this two month mission trip to Africa I recognized that there are inherent uncertainties and unknowns when venturing overseas to a new land and foreign culture. Yet even in the midst of my reservations about going into the unknown and unsatisfied curiousities about what each day will look like, I am choosing to go.
I have been loved with an unconditional love. I have been blessed beyond measure so that I may be a blessing to others. I have been called to go, serve, lead, and above all else, love. On this journey, I will encounter so many precious souls who have an emptiness within them, who are searching for something greater, who have unanswered questions and unbearable burdens. In faith, I will let the gracious and redeeming love of God overflow from within during every encounter in hopes that they will experience the fullness and joy of this love that is offered to them. A love that is offered to all of us. God’s love is free, accesible, and sufficient for anyone who wants it. I know first-hand the power of this love, for it has completely changed me from the inside out.
Because of how this unconditional love has changed my life, I am going out to share it with others around the world so that they too may be able to experience His love. In the month of June, I will be in Swaziland partnering with Children’s Hope Chest to serve orphaned and neglected children, many of whom have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. Then, in July, I will be in the country of South Africa partnering with the Global Leadership Academy to impact and empower the youth. The ministry of me and my team will be flexible and spirit-lead, filling the specific needs of the community we are in, whatever capacity that may be. I believe God will do big things in these months as my faith and the faith of those I come into contact with grows.
Thanks for sharing in this adventure with me. Please continue to pray for God’s love to be shown through me during this upcoming season of my life.
Love, Veronica
