I am sure many of you have been asking the question of why is Taylor raising money & if i donate where does that money go? well this is the blog to answer most if not all of those questions!
Did you know that fundraising is actually biblical? It is mentioned in the bible several times, even Jesus humbled Himself and asked for an offering! Exodus 25:1-2 The Lord spoke to Moses “Tell the Israelites to take an offering for me; from every person whose heart makes him willing you are to receive my offering.
Fundraising is probably the hardest thing I have done in my life- although I have done it several times now- it doesn’t get easier. I started this blog on Friday and have yet to find the exact words to say because my mind seems to go blank when talking about money!
Fundraising is a task but it is also a sweet journey that the Lord calls us to be a part of! This journey is not all about me asking for money. It is about asking for people to walk along side of me and support me in what the Lord has called me to.
AIM has asked me to raise $17,700 for this route in October.
Here is a breakdown of the funds that we are asked to raise!
You can see that most of the money is straight towards us racers for our needs on the field. That is the program mobilization and field support portion. This covers all expenses on the field such as food, housing, transportation, insurance, etc. The only things not covered by this amount is our own personal expenses, up front medical costs, adventure days, and travel day food.
I will also be responsible for purchasing my gear before launch. This includes several items such as a backpack, tent, day pack, etc.
Below are my fundraising deadlines that AIM has set. These deadlines are mandatory.
7/23/2020 – $5,000
9/25/2020 – $10,000 (a little less than 3 weeks prior to training camp)
12/20/2020 – $13,000 (End of 2nd full month in the field)
2/28/2021 – $17,700 TOTAL DUE (End of 4th full month in the field)
