“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us..” Hebrews 12:1
Preparing for the race is a task in and of itself. It requires perseverance because this task is not an easy one. Fundraising is one of the hardest but most rewarding tasks the lord can ask of you.
Over the last month I have seen the Lord work in such a mighty way in providing over a $1,000 for my trip! I am elated at the fact I have raised that much in just a month! BUT I still need to raise roughly $17,000 more so the fundraising race isn’t over yet.
Through fundraising the Lord teaches me a lot about grace, hope, and perseverance. Hope in Him that He will provide. Grace for those that give and do not give. And lastly perseverance to push through until the end.
Although fundraising is a huge part of preparing for the race there are other things that I have to do before leaving the US for an entire year!
I have been able to meet most of my squad through the app called group me! They are some awesome people that I can not wait to share this experience with. We are all preparing together by praying and encouraging one another.
Some of us are also doing a reading plan together where we read a chapter of the bible each month! It has been a fun experience to grow in the lord together already.
Launch is in 253 days. In these next 253 days I will be continuing to prepare in the ways I mentioned by growing with my team in prayer and scripture. I will be preparing through fundraising. I will be preparing physically. I will be preparing to leave home for a year. & I will be preparing by getting all of the items that I will need to go on the race. My next blog post will talk about the gear that I am planning to buy!
You can be a part of my journey in 2 ways!
1. By praying.
Some specific things you can be praying for are:
- my team- I ask that you pray for unity.
- my fundraising- I ask that you pray that my trip be fully funded by the deadlines that the WR has set.
- my family as I prepare to be gone for a year.
- for my supporters- I ask that you pray for all of these people who have partnered with me as we all have a huge part in this kingdom work.
2. By giving financially.
- The amount does not matter.
- You can donate as little as a $1 and as much as the lord lays on your heart.
- Without the support financially this trip would not be able to happen.
- I ask that if you feel led by the lord to give that you do so for all of the lives that we will be able to touch with the gospel.
You can be a part of what I am doing! Thank you to all of you for praying, giving, and subscribing to my blog! You mean so much to me!
If you feel led to do so you can give through the donate button at the top of my page or by mailing a check directly to Adventures In Mission.
